Good question. I doubt that there will ever be any appropriate coaches for this loco, at least not from Märklin.

Well, if they have gone as far as making this loco, then they will at some stage make more variations (1) of it (they will need to do this to justify the tooling cost, they won't recover that on the single run) - different road numbers, and I presume different liveries (there is an unstated implication in the description that it had other liveries). So on this basis I would suspect that Marklin will have coaches in their sights for the loco.

(1) at least one variation will probably be a fictitious or real livery as a Nurnburg Messe loco, another likely subject would be as a Marklin Store loco - this livery would likely be black with red trim (I could envisage the stripe down the side of the loco and tender, along with the cab roof, being red for this item). Based on past productions either of these could come with a coach set to match.

It has nice detailed brass touches, but other than that, it isn't for myself.

From other forums on this subject it appears that the model 39498 represents the 498 class as currently stored and running.
So probably any set of coaches through to era VI would be fine with it.

€679,00 for a communist locomotive?? Blink
The red star on the front of the steam locomotive are symbol for the communism.
This locomotive present former Czechoslovakia.
Bratislava are now belong to Slovakia.
I think there is some Roco wagons or Brawa that will fit with this steam locomotive.

It cannot be very far away. Normally it would be at the Koln IMA, and that used to be early November.

I know, I have something like 8 models from 2022 that won't be delivered until 2023.
