I would be grateful for a copy of the instruction manual or link for instructions for this newly purchased loco

What's the item number - we don't carry automagic databases in our heads of items especially 1 Gauge items. Did you not get a manual with your locomotive? Manuals for the latest Marklin items including G1 are available from https://www.maerklin.de/...service/product-database

Thanks but no maintenance instructions included and the nearest number, which I can find is 55722 for a DB BR 213 333-8. I have tried the Marklin database with no success

Many thanks but the search has not produced a result and I have emailed Marklin on their contact form to see if they have the instructions in their archive. They have been helpful in the past with other searches.

Yeah, but the database doesn't have an entry for the catalogue number originally given. It does have an entry for the 55725 though, but it is a subtly different class number.

Many thanks to you all and I have found the instructions under 55725, which is near enough for help with maintenance, as my version is likely to be AC only.

Here is a reply to my query from Marklin. 600854_1096_Anleitung_55722_55724_Diesellok_BR_213.pdf. Unfortunately the loco has been returned to the seller, as it only moved a couple of feet before smoking! I await to see if it can be repaired or money returned but I suspect that the motor burned out.
