The slim double slip is still on top of my list.

3 degree R9-track.

Some sort of wide radius flex c-track for +700 mm radius.

Sgmmnss 40-45 feet 4-axle wagon for container, or preferably steel loads.
I think Märklin already have something like this.
A modified version for steel slabs would be great and probably popular in Sweden. Since Märklin already have the basic tooling, all that's needed is the loading rack, similar to how they made the Sgns timber wagons some 5 years ago, and they are still selling a lot! Timber hauling is major in Norway and Sweden, often by companies going across the border like Hector or Green Cargo or Cargo Net.

New tooling for Swedish RC-locomotive. As it is now the market is wide open for Roco. And we need modern RC-locos for HNoll's excellent 80's coaches.

Hi Leo,
I agree with most of your sentiments including about the container rolling stock.

As well as the C track slim double slip crossover I think a slim 3 way turnout would be a practical addition to the range.

Definitely the 3 degree R9 is needed.

It´s not possible because of the stud contacts and the pick up shoes make possible failure to contact on the rail and short circuits.
In fact in the three rail world there is limited about the track system.

Anything is possible, it's just the cost of development and engineering. After all they have the slim line points, and the difficulties with aligning the pukos on a crossing are no more difficult than those.

No!
Weichen-Walter did tried too with the problem by try slim line turnouts.
It result short circuits.
Sure if you believe to fix the problem you have too add a lot of puckos on the turnouts as result!
I don´t believe Märklin are will to start those turnouts because of the expensive as result to shop C-turnouts.
To use slime line turnouts you need bigger layout...at least 5 metres!

Hi Goofy,
I do not understand you.
Märklin offer the slimline turnouts, 24711 and 24712 and many people buy them.
Our request is to design construct and market a 3-way combination of the 24711 and 24712, and also a double-slip crossover of the same geometry.
There may be some electrical shortcomings with the 3-way but no more than the existing 24711 and 24712. A couple of my locomotives (Liliput and Märklin 37258 Kittel) create a short on 24711/12 so they are route restricted on my layout, just like some real trains are route restricted.

You did not clarify if Weichen-Walter attempted to build the slim 3-way or the slim double slip. Anyway it would be useful if you could give us a link to Weichen-Walter to read about the experiment.
Thankyou.

Märklins slim C-turnouts is only at 12,1° and this are maximum tolerance for the three rail.
Märklin have not tried produce new larger slim turnouts since then.
Problem?

Please take a look at these turnouts from Wiechen-Walter, they are a lot slimmer than anything else I have ever seen:

https://www.weichen-walt...kte/3L-ww-wmg/index.html

The 3-way combination of 24711 and 24712 is also in his catalogue; it will be available next year:

Conclusion: It is possible to make slim turnouts for the Märklin track system Cool

Yeah, but what a price ... almost 400 Euro plus options (which appear to be around 64 Euro each). But as I said above, anything can be done with engineering and cost of development. Still our unbeliever chooses to not believe ... BigGrin

The slim R9 double-slip need to do similar things as the 2R-railers do with their electro-frog. That is part of the track will need to serve as the 3:rd rail and hence the switch need to have some electric switches as well to switch polarity from ground to live. That's how Weichen-Walter does it.

If anything a double slip saves a lot of space in length, and even more so with the bigger radii.

There is a humongous long thread on Stummi forum around the C-track and the missing pieces and the technical aspects of getting the 3:rd rail to work with a wide radius. https://www.stummiforum....-Gleis-Revolution-1.html
Somewhere in that thread WeichenWalter describes the problems and possible solutions.

The R9 double slip, would it be best to construct it as Baeseler or Englishman / Engländer?

Personally, I'd love to see the Baeseler, but I think if Märklin eventually makes this track, it will be an Engländer since it will be easier to build and it will also more easily fit into the geometry. Placing two Baeseler after each other won't really be feasible if they are going to be separated by only one 71-mm track.

However, both need the polarization of the rails in order to work properly.

I don't have a big layout, but I will gladly fit at least one or maybe two on it!

Interesting to see that this was leaked in a video that was not specifically about new items. Many modellers were considering whether to place an advance order for the Piko/Arwico model to take advantage of discounts but will now have to decide whether to pull the trigger or wait to find out more about Maerklin's offering.

All I know is that there is a good chance I will be SMILING in 2022

For those who don't know, SMILE is the internal Stadler name for the EC250 (SBB Giruno RABe 501) project

I think he is talking about the new items brochure which will come out mid-January.

Will be interesting to see when they release it as Marklin themselves are not going to the show to keep their staff safe from covid.

The brochure with new items 2022 will be included in the next shipment of Märklin Insider. That's January but probably it will be here February here in Denmark...
I guess they'll do a live show as usual. I be really hope there will be uninteresting models as I've got about of caching up with alot of models and I need money for a layout.

Hi David,

Rivarossi, Lima, Acme/REE?? and France Trains all released nice models of blue 1930s steel Orient Express cars.
Even a sleeper and diner from Märklin would be nice.

Particularly in a 1935 train set (a double) with two engines - a steam engine and an electric E17.
Steam engine Paris to Stuttgart (change at Strasbourg or Kehl) then E17 Stuttgart to Salzburg.
But which steam engine?
An interesting question.

Märklin need produce only 1935 sets - similar to what they did for 26928 with only 1928 sets produced.
There would be limited demand.

Today in my local MRR magazine (modelspoormagazine) an ad for the following:

- 39539: NMBS Type 81 steamer (ex G8.1/BR55) (450 euro RRP) (Trix 22539 for 2R)
- 43054: Passenger car set to go along with it (1x bagage car, 2x thunderboxes and 1x langenschwalbacher) (190 euro RRP)

All era 3.

Indeed.
There will the Giruno train. It has already been announced in the latest Märklin video.

A faster download alternative, on the Märklin New Items 2022 pdf:

Edit: The PDF is available from Märklin now from: https://www.maerklin.de/en/products/product-information/catalogs/new-items so I removed the other link.

Well, I got all four downloaded. Always nice to see what the other branches of products are getting as well.

Some nice items in the H0 though, another v320 with multiple wagon sets.
Those after COOP container wagons will get another bite at the cherry.
I am surprised that there is no Marklineum Br44 for Z though, seeing it is 50 years of Z.
Apart from the book (seems to be only in German) there was a disappointing lack of emphasis on 50 years of Z, I thought.
S2/6 in three variants for the G1 crowd.

I'll have to wait and get the German versions to see what I can afford ... Blink Blushing Scared

It appears they completely forgot about Era II, again... (OK, the insider loco is era II, but still...)

I was hoping for a E89 in DRB version... I will have to wait some more...

Oh, and what an uninspired choice for Insider car this year. Makes me glad I did not extend my membership.

It took over an hour to get the marklin H0 one. I did have to restart it at one stage.

another item I should have mentioned above is a new close coupling to fit NEM pockets for coaches and wagons that have lower buffers.

Yes. For decades Märklin couplers were causing problems with rolling stock that had correct buffers - and Roco Universal coupler was a possible remedy.
Now Märklin also offer suitable couplers.
I can only hope that the new couplers will soon be the new standard for all rolling stock.

So far my wish list is very short after flipping through the Piko and Märklin new items.

Tom

Sad about Era 2. It was such an innovative time. I’m dying for more rolling stock.

The link bph gave in Post #88 is much faster - only took a couple of minutes to download.

But yes the others are quite slow. You can also get the German versions by changing EN_ in the url to DE_.

I am so happy with the Transfesa set ThumpUp ThumpUp ThumpUp. First Spanish item in the catalog since Velaro AVE (37782).
Best regards
