Hi All

I have been reading in the marklin Magazine about the new Austrian Crocodile 39991 Drool

369394_e.jpg

It comes in green, but I would like it OBBs red livery

Red 254.jpg

Do you think Marklin will produce it Red in 2022 or 2023 as they have all the tooling they just have to change the decor ??

Tim

39990 and 39991 are both German crocodiles.
Even in ÖBB livery they still are German crocodiles for me.

The ÖBB version has two front windows in the cab while the German versions have three windows. The lamps at the front are also different.
So it is not just a change of livery, they have to make a form variation. I'm sure they will have planned both moulds and ÖBB liveries will arrive sooner or later.
Regards
Tom

One of the reasons I like it in red , is that when I passed through Innsbruck I saw one of these in red on the turntable in the loco depot. Once seen never forgotten

I wouldn't call them ÖBB Crocodiles, a.) the real Austrian crocodile is either a Rh 1100, Rh 1089 or a Rh 1189 which Märklin has produced recently (39089)., obvious the German BR 194 was referred to a German crocodile, but the real Austrian Crocodile is much closer related to the Swiss Crocodile.
So I hope in future, modellers will refer it to the proper Austrian Crocodile and I take my hat of for Märklin to produce such a model, Roco has produced one in different versions from orange, grey, green, darker green and brown.

Some of the early version of the DB 194 which either stayed in Austria or were delivered to Austria after the war, had 3 windows which was later changed to 2 front windows.

Were there any red ones with three windows?
