I searched several items both in stock and new. I recieved a #47074 set a couple weeks ago and it arrived missing a buffer.

The German link (as the English one seems not to work):

https://www.maerklinshop...rds=47074&iBrandId=1

The buffer has the article no. E103050. Maerklin does not have any available. Some European dealers show them in stock, but it is unclear if they ship overseas.

Hi
Normally it is up to your dealer to provide the missing part to you. In Europe (EU) it is a just cause to return the Item free of charge and get full refunds.
So it all depends where you bought it.
In Märklinshop it is listed as a E103050 (4 pieces for 6€) https://www.maerklinshop.de/Spar...p;iBrandId=1&submit=but not available at the moment. You may try later again

Cheers

Jean

Send an email to Marklin with a photo of the location of the missing buffer. I did that with a wagon that had vehicles, and one of the vehicles was missing its wheels. I sent Marklin an email and the required parts arrived through the mail free of charge.

Yes Mike C, looks like it. The buffer pocket is half moon shaped. Thank's all, Alster, Jean, Alan! I'll shoot my dealer an e-mail. It was brand new old stock. They were ordering direct from Germany some before a container ship sank and Covid. They recieved some items with slightly damaged or water logged packaging. Marklin USA checks it's parcels before forwarding to US dealers.

I severely doubt that every item that goes through the warehouse of Marklin USA is visually inspected before it is shipped out. Perhaps an inspection consists of a visual inspection through the packaging (window), but I think it is next to impossible that every item is taken out, inspected and repackaged as part of the shipping process.

When I worked at a dealer, we would inspect and repack stock that was in the display cabinets, but items that were on shelf in box or that were special ordered were just given a visual check before being prepared for delivery.

Regards

Mike C

Of course, only the large boxes if they show damage. Brenda told me that. She used to manage the Marklin club USA in New Berlin.
