Says it drives fine! Thus, the gearing, axles, motor, siderods, and frame axle journals miust be ok. By chassis being refered to as anything but drreamlike mean cosmetic? Paint is an easy restoration.

Well, I can't see how it 'drives fine' ... there is a broken wheel, one end the chassis has so many cracks on the casting I don't see how it could be run at all ... maybe he means the motor runs when held in the hand.

I wonder how many of these locos there are sitting in display cabinets that cannot be run due to a failed chassis?

They will need to pack that loco very well or any vibration will result in a box full of crumbs.. What an absolute tragedy, but how can it still be worth 2,000 euro in that state? |

How can it even be restored? A replacement frame? Soldering of the body shell cracks? Zinc pest is prevalent throughout castings. It spreads.

If there was a part by part listing of which parts on it are actually good, and then compare the cost for replacements from Ritter (for example) that might give some indication. The original box and papers obviously has its own value as well, what might that be, 'maybe' 100-200 Euro's ?? Actually sold for 2,232.22 so even allowing 232.22 for the box, that's still 2,000 euro for all the parts. I can't see it. Bit if you look at it from another angle, let's assume you had the required damaged parts to restore it, would it still even be worth the 2200 as a complete (restored) item? Crazy is the world. Crazy Even the Gents over on FAM are perplexed at the achieved price... http://www.altemodellbah...im-Originalkarton-1.html |

It seems crazy, but a complete one fetches double or triple that even when the frames are replaced. The early version (version 1-4) kroks fetch extra crazy prices.

But the box is indeed original, just for a later version. So much wrong with this loco. Paul |
