Dumb question for the day. How many connect 6021 (60128) units can be connected to a cs3?

Why? Because I can!
Actually it’s because I would like to implement a control system with a controller at each station, and the 6021 is the best option in my view due to its speed and ease of operation. The CS3 is planned to be a hub to process signals from 6021’s and associated components.
Anyway, if someone has tried plugging in multiple units I would like to hear how they got on and if there were any issues.
Cheers…..
Mike

You need the connect 21 unit and adapter cable.

Actually I need several of the connect 6021 units (60128) and a terminal (which I have already) and of course several 6021 units. But I’d like to know if someone has tried even two units plugged into the cs3 before I spend too much

May I request that you not be so glib You do not need an adapter cable to connect the 7 pin Connect6021(60128) cable to either a CS (2/3) or Terminal (60125/60145) The CS3 (60226) natively supports 2 x (7 pin) devices be they Connect6021(60128), Boosters or LinkS88(60883) For more than 2 devices you would add a terminal (60125/60145) - not an adapter cable The 60124 (Originally part number #610479) - 10 pin to 7 pin adapter cable - is only needed for Mobile Stations (When adding a 3rd unit at the back of the CS or via the terminal) Edited by user 27 June 2021 23:50:22(UTC)

(In theory the architecture supports a UID address space of 4 billion devices although the 60128s appear to be using the x36 x30 prefix with the next 2 bytes based on the items serial number, so you may be down to 65 thousand) Still happy to send you a unit (as discussed last year) Edited by user 27 June 2021 23:51:21(UTC)

Thanks Peter, I think a paltry 65 thousand is probably still one or two more than I could use! 😊

How was I glib? With so many connectng items and terms for the CS3, one can forget certain aspects and confuse things. Yes, the 6021 connect ubit has it's own cable. I also ahve never before heard the word glib. I looked it up. After being chastized by Clapcott as posting an unhelpful reply, rather than accepting that I explained I mistook the lack of a supplied cable with the 6021 connect, P.J. also from N.Z. aggreed with him. I stick up for myself and can be just as much of a b_ _ _ h as the anyone.

No, and that is a two way street! From now on, I'll try ignoring ignorance or brashness.

OK Guys, this has gone far enough so that we are not even on the original topic anymore. Time to lock the thread.
Sorry if Peter came across as direct to the point, but Peter is a direct to the point kind of person. He wasn't trying to offend anyone, rather he was correcting bad information which as we all know can bring about confusion. No one was trying to personally attack you marklinist5999, and I suggest you don't need to be so thin skinned about it. Not sure what your final statement is intended to mean, but it could almost be read as a kind of threat which if it is will not be tolerated on this forum.Edited by user 30 June 2021 04:34:28(UTC)
