Hi,
Has anyone tried using the Märklin decoder tool/software with an iPad?
Is this a realistic possibility to give a portable programming unit without the slowness of working through a Central Station?
Thoughts/experiences appreciated.
Cheers....
Mike

Hi Mike You got me confused. There are 2 Märklin products: - the mDecoderTool3 (freeware from Maerklin.de) to be connected to a PC to download, edit and prepare the memory files to be programmed though a CS2 or CS3 or directly to the Decoder / Programmer - the Decoder/Programmer (60971) a USB device with a connector for various types of Märklin decoders. It needs a PC and is much faster than using a CS2 or CS3. I may be wrong but I believe there is nothing for iPads. Speed difference is 40 minutes for CS2/CS4 programming and only 5 minutes with the Decoder / Programmer Cheers Jean Edited by user 07 May 2020 11:57:31(UTC)

Hi Jean,
Thanks, you have answered my question. I have the 60971 for the PC and was wondering if I could utilise it with the iPad purely for convenience. But I understand now that that is not the case.
Thanks again,
Cheers...

How would you attach the USB stick to an iPad since Apple has never provided any of their tablets with a USB interface? |
Regards,
Jim
I have almost all Märklin and mostly HO, although I do have a small number of Z gauge trains!
So many trains and so little time. |
