Hi Carlos. When I have used cork in the past, before I found Marklin M and then C Track I often found that the cork wasn't worth saving once making changes. Even when using white glue I still found the Cork didn't come up clean after using water.

I nail down the cork. It can come up easily once nailed. However, I also ballast the cork and track with glue. Once that activity is complete, it will not come easily and it is better to start again.

I too nail down the cork and it comes up very easy when the nails are removed and in most cases can be reused. However, as previously mentioned, if it is ballasted it most likely is only good to be tossed once it is removed.

Don't glue the cork down. The track screws are enough to hold it in place.

Is this a Z Gauge question? If so, it is in the wrong part of the forum.

I use a thinner track nail for the cork.

Why not just put some glue at the edges of the cork bed. The track and buildings etc will hold the rest in place. If you want to use the cork again then just cut round the edges and remove them leaving the remainder available for use. |
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer. |

Try Atlas No. 2540 HO & N track nails. They work well for me. They can be easily removed with a small set of pliers with out damaging the cork. The nails are black and blend in with the cork well.
