Wishing everybody a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I know our friends in the upsidedown world will celebrate first so enjoy the day folks. Hope everybody gets some Marklin from Santa. David PS probably posted in the wrong place … already started in the Cave of a Thousand Bottles. |
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer. |

I've followed the trend: 1 week to go, 6 days to go, 5 days to go, 1 more sleep and today I've woken up and guess what: its just another day., yesterday my wife & I had to get a few items from the shopping centre and the moment you've entered the shopping centre you go the feeling we've missed some important news: the world is going to end in the next 24 hours, I've never seen so many people with full trolleys like they either haven't been eating for a week or they are planing for the unforeseen future., this is what you call Christmas, a fanatic, chaotic movement of people, objects and survival items like food and just buying essential stuff like bread became a bit of a challenge: there is an Italian deli outside from the shopping centre and I thought I'll buy a nice Italian white bread loaf, sorry ran out of it but its Christmas don't you cater for this ? went back into the shopping centre and got a french stick and an Italian loaf, got home and the French stick broke in 2 places, the Italian loaf I thought was empty inside and I paid A$ 8.50 for both., looks like they charge you for air as well now.
My wife and I usually do some cooking over Christmas for our close relations but this year we are far apart when it comes to the menu, I've decided to go with a seafood theme, for an appetizer: smoked salmon, entree: Garlic Prawns and for the main course: Crayfish Thermidor, my wife decided to go for a traditional Christmas dinner: cooked smoked ham, Roast Pork with Sauerkraut and seasonal Veges, I've never eaten Crayfish with Sauerkraut together., we''l find out later how the stomach coped with it., maybe the Vodka and orange will settle it down all together and we may never will find out what actually happened on this day in December 2019.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Merry Christams from a sunny Suffolk, UK. Train has been put away to make room for Christmas celebrations with family and friends. It will be resurrected in 2020 or 2021 or when I will eventually retire hahahaha

I received two parcels containing a vintage loco each just before Christmas this year, so I can't complain about Santa ... Merry Christmas to all of our forum members! Regards, Mark |
Best regards, Mark
I like Märklin items produced in the 1960s or early '70s, but also digital locos & current rolling stock. |

If I don‘t receive any, at least I can give Märklin gifts I gave my grandson his first Märklin set (29307 My World Elevated Airport Train plus the matching 72216 Terminal building. One warning though ... the train set may be suitable for a three year old. The terminal is not. It has lots of small pices and will require a good bit of help from Mom and Dad to assemble. This Christmas my five year old son graduated from My World to his first „Big Boy“ train: a 36871 green branch line tank lok, 4 x green 4039 passenger cars, the matching 4038 baggage car, an R2 oval with a white tranformer. And my ten year old son made the leap to digital lok and turnout contol combined with analog automated sidings: an MS2, 2 x M84s, 4 x 24944 contact tracks and 4 x 74491 turnout motors. Best wishes to all for a great New Year. |
