Hi,

after selling my Intellibox2, I‘m now a proud owner of a brandnew Central Station 3RollEyes
I have some understanding problems with the different driving steps. I know that mfx has 126 steps.

My questions:
- can I drive with CS3 an mfx-Decoder with the Motorola2-Format and 28 steps?
- as I have lot of locos with ESU Lokpilot4 (no mfx), can I drive with CS3 a Lokpilot4 with the Motorola2-Format and 28 steps?

thank you

Greetings from Luxembourg

No.
AFAIK the only Märklin controller ever that supports MM with 28 steps is the Central Station 60212.

The CS2 uses MM 27 for all MM decoders - sometimes this has disadvantages for decoders that do not support MM 27.
Not sure about the CS3, but would assume it also uses MM27 for all MM decoders.
Since ESU decoders do not support MM 27 AFAIK, you will only get 14 steps with those.

Better use DCC for all decoders that support DCC and MM.

Tom

If you set your locomotive (Märklin) which also support DCC protocol you can choice 28 or 126 speed steps.

DCC = Digital Command Control
