The FD had to go out and as it was still not wrapped to go under the tree, I gave it a run,
Magnificent. running and also sounds. Motor starting, doors closing (and Opening) horn and noisy brakes.
Just magnificent. Thanks all, Merry Christmas. Nev |

My latest arrival: the NS "koploper" 37421. Good-looking and good-running. BTW: does this count as a loc? A train? A set of coaches...? Peter Edited by moderator 11 January 2011 19:44:29(UTC)

Running up hill - or better, up helix - is no problem at all. It has 2 sounds, a horn and a station announcement. The station announcement says, in Dutch of course, that some train will arrive in 5 minutes. Not unusual at Dutch stations, if trains are delayed. Only problem I have with this one: my shadow station has stop sections (no current) of 2 tracks. That's not long enough for this train. It's pickup shoe is at the end of the first coach, and when this arrives at the stop section the train does not stop immediately. So it's "nose" is blocking the next train that should leave the shadow station. Something to think about for my new layout design. Oh, and there is a cable from the pickup shoe to the coupler, which is annoyingly visible. I'll try to fix that. Tamas, I like your Talent a lot too! how is it running on a Märklin layout? Peter |

Loco number 60 is on it's way. It's a Marklin 3743 DR Br243, produced in the mid '90s. Full metal body, 6090 decoder and 5 pole motor, in new condition. Not bad for €99 I think. Anyway, after getting the Ludmilla I wanted another East German engine. Pictures from ebay - I'll post some on my layout when it arrives. Ray |

No, I've never believed in weathering. When I receive the loco, if I think the grey frames look too "plasticky" I might consider painting them in a matt grey, possibly a shade darker. Ray |

First of all, I have only "carpet layout" so it hasn't ups and downs. It runs smooth and "silent" (it has a Loksound V3.5 decoder).

Got another Franco Crosti.Ive got 2 39160's now and 2 39161's....
These little locos are quickly becoming my favourites. They pull very well, sound less strained than the 5 polers class 44's and i love the interior cab light and running board lights. And they just look so different to all the others.
Then got another V188 in green(as im planning to build Dora one day lol)
Got 37848 as well.Just need to go fetch it.
Away at the moment is the dreaded BR45 and one of the 37889 class 44's.The 45 never ran well and finally decided to destroy the pinion gear in the gearbox. What a piece of utter sh-te.The 44 blew a decoder.
So,the only locos that im going to buy this year, will be the V300,the BR23 and if the Bellingrodt is going to be a BR05,that too.Oh yes,and i can get my hands on a cheapish VT11 gasturbine.I will get that too.
So here goes to keeping to the budget.... |
