Hi guys.
I searched the forum for a similar topic but couldn't find one.
Anyway, I'm thinking about making test track by myself. Have you ever done one? Any clues or ideas?

Do you mean; Rollenprüfstand ? (like this: Marklin rollenprufstand ) I built one myself, simple wooden construction and some ball bearings. So far it is working fine, although the ball bearing position can not be adjusted. Photo below:

Same idea, small ball bearings but this time mounted on L-shaped aluminium profiles, allowing any piece of track to be a test track.   |

16.5mm = the distance between the regular tracks in HO scale. |

Right, sorry :) As close as possible without actually touching. So probably something like 6+1mm. Will double check when I get home. |

I though of the same but there was no need for it. A burr on the alu inner side is enough spacer. So for once don't clean up that hole after making/threading it :) If not enough then give it a tap from outside, the alu will easily bend and make a micro "cone" on the other side.
I've also applied a touch of CA glue between the bearings and the axle/screw, as the shrink tube was not a very precise spacer.

Ball bearings ordered. All the other parts are easy to find and probably in a garage somewhere  Half term is coming and this time it's my time to stay with kids so hopefully should have it ready for bank holiday  Did you measure this distance?

Yep, it's as mentioned before, 1mm between bearings, so the side holes/axle centers are 7mm apart.

Hi Guys
I just wished I had the skill to make one, unfortunately, I don't have the knowledge of where to get the parts, the tools to make it and finally the patience to do.
My fingers are like sausages doing this type of thing! How about offering to make them for members and charge them for your time and parts!
As my daughter would say 'winner, winner, chicken dinner' please don't ask me what it means, I don't talk 18 year old girl!
