Hello! I live in the Chicago area, and have a partially built Z Scale cortina layout. All the track and catenary is installed, can anyone suggest anybody in the midwest that I can pay would be able to complete the wiring and getting it working? Thanks!

Just my opinion, but it will be a tough go to find someone to do this work ... Your use of catenary means you are using Marklin tracks ... Which signals do you have? What is the challenge to starting the wiring yourself. You have tracks lain and as such you should test everything before ballasting and securing. Always do a test run with the tracks setting on the layout.

Does anyone have a wiring plan for noch cortina or a picture of layout of controllers, etc.? Thanks!

Go to the Noch website https://www.noch.com/en/...rtiggelande-cortina.html
and download the track plan - that shows how it should be wired (it is in German).

Hi, Did you ever find the wiring plan for the Noch Cortina layout you were looking for? I also need one. To lay the track I used an English version of the Noch 59880 Gleisplan (track plan) from the Noch website and followed it exactly, but there are no wiring instructions that I could find on the Noch website or elsewhere. The track plan is in German at Noch.com with the Cortina Layout. If a wiring plan for this track plan exists it would really help.
Thanks, Bob

This is the track plan I followed. It is on the Noch website. How to wire the signals and isolation track is my biggest roadblock. I'm not even sure there are enough signals and circuit tracks to control two trains on the inner loop. I believe the two circuit tracks shown on the inner loop control the 8992 crossing gate. I also have a copy of the track plan in English which I got from a Marklin dealer, Z Scale Hobo. I haven't put down roadbed or ballast so I can still make changes. If I get any info on wiring I'll pass it along. Guide to Z Scale has a lot of the basics.

This is a second Cortina track plan with ten circuit tracks, five 8945 relays, four isolating tracks, four 8939 signals, etc. It was sent to me by a Marklin dealer but still no wiring information. Can anyone help with wiring hints for either track plan? The track plans are supposed to be for three train operation, two on the inner loop. This track plan may have used Noch Automatic Push Button Switches 51030 and may not work without it. I need to know which circuit tracks go to to which signals, which go to the 8992 crossing gate.
Thanks, Bob

Hi Bob: Sorry to hear you're still stuck on this.

So in the latest plan you've posted, the 8539-8529 are used to control the 8992. These are circuit tracks that work in the same manner as the ones shown in the 8992 instructions. http://zscalehobo.com/ph...992_instructions_zsh.jpg
We should be clear on the 8992 now.

Next, you want auto operation with the two 8939s. You need to do is create a block either using 8588s on ONE SIDE or using an isolating joiner from 8954 set to do the same isolating function. Then you simply wire as shown in this diagram:
https://zscalehobo.com/p...244_with_89391_zsh_1.jpg
*Note that 7244 can be replaced with 8945 per my discussion with Marklin service.

I'm not sure what else you need. This has been provided to you a couple of times and the drawings in the images here show how to wire.

Don't forget the especially interesting and applicable image I sent to you in March ... this pretty much says it all:
https://zscalehobo.com/p...s/marklin/0318190522.jpg

I'm here to help. I did walk another customer through this recently and his setup is working perfectly on a Traunstein - same signals, same wiring dilemma. With the signal #89391, you will also need the 32VA transformer (#6646) to power the Universal Relay #7244.

True, which is why I suggested to use 8945 with the 89391. But this user is using the 8939, which is definitely using 8945 relay and can work directly on the 6727/67271/67014 power units.

Instead of that $109 beast of a power supply #6646, you can also find AC/AC wall units for cheap:
https://www.jameco.com/z...-2-1mm-Plug_2271087.html
That can also power your 7244s if that's what you want to use.

I am puzzled why Noch still uses Marklin 8939 signals with the Cortina layout. The new signals have been in production since 2003.

Honestly they have not bothered to learn the wiring for the new Märklin system as there is very little info out there ... as such, they have not updated the plan. They do list 89390 on latest plans but don't offer any way to wire it. I'm working on a plan with wiring but it's like priority 99 on my list of 1000 priorities. Until then I point people to guidetozscale and the Marklin instruction sheets.
