Mehmet,
Glad you made up to the train room! An amazing step forward (and upward) and a wonderful video. Did you celebrate a birthday as well?
Cheers,
Harold.

Hello Utkan, Have been following your story from your terrible mishap to your delightful recovery! Wow, what a lucky guy you are!!!! All your friends, wonderful wife and all the students/graduates are all holding you in high esteem with the Marklin hobby. Indeed, you are very lucky and wish you many more years of your luckiness. Here, are only my wife who supports me a little and has no interest in trains or anything mechanical, and my father who is getting on the years, whom introduced me to Marklin. I have a small layout from Noch, that I have made into a well detailed layout. Not as extensive and beautiful as yours, but it keeps me happy. None of my friends like trains, and it's hard to keep going. But I dream of visiting your layout in your beautiful town of Istanbul one of these days. My wife wants to see the famed market one day. Cheers to you for your perseverance! And keep getting better! Walter

Nice modelling. Looks good. With the temperatures around your area you need it !!! Hope that horrendous fire is not affecting you directly. It sounds like some people have had very lucky escapes, while others have been very unlucky and missed surviving by very small amounts of time.

Surely those terrible fires have affected me deeply. So sorry about the incident...and so sorry for the people who have lost their lives. Fortunately my friends are ok |

Hi all, After five operations, I am hoping to be in my train house more regularly since I have a (last)control in the hospital. So lots of pictures and videos are on the way... I cannot wait to see tomorrow. Cheers, mehmet Edited by user 12 September 2018 12:20:37(UTC)

Hi Mehmet, It has been a long journey after your horrible accident but finally everything has turned to good! I think that after our setbacks we people tend to respect life in a different way than before which is only a good thing. Normally we don't think so much about health issues before something happens. Life is so fragile... Nice to hear that everything is ok now and you can concentrate to your lovely Märklin layout with your friends and Märklin Istanbul Academy students. Have a nice trip! All the best Åke

Utkan,
if you take a wooden toothpick or credit card, you can easily set the metal handrail on the front of the Ae 6/6 back into it's position. It is supposed to be located in the slots provided, as can be seen on the other side of the locomotive. This can also be accomplished by pressing on the sides of the railing, which will cause the middle to expand, making it possible to reposition the rail by hand.
The nicest thing about this model is that when running in the dark, the milled light channels provide an actual beam which can be seen ahead of the locomotive. Try doing that with modern models, which merely project a diffuse glow...
Regards
Mike C

The photo of the other end of the loco shows the hand rail level with the bottom of the window, but both of these show the handrail with a droop. I wonder of you posted the same photo twice by accident (even though they show different file names)? See this one of yours for the other end of the loco ... and you will see what I mean.
