The blue BR05 will probably also look good with Ep. II Rheingold coaches set. One of the sets that has the name "Rheingold" written below the windows.
I have 26506 and 41928, neither has the "Rheingold" word below the windows :-)

The new K.W.St.E coaches (42104 and others) seem to have evolutioned from the previous versions in 2 aspects: 1- They don't support current light systems from Märklin 2- They have now separately applied metal roof vents
Is this something new or did it already exist? At least the older versions supported light systems... Maybe Märklin will produce some new light kit for these coaches later. What do you think?

I have an older Württemberg Class C that had just a few lighted coaches for its train. So when these new coaches were introduced I bought several last year and I have more on order for sometime this year. The metal roof vents are nice and the tiny gold decals on the windows are really cool. I was assuming that lighting would eventually come along, but so far nothing and I am wondering if there ever will be Märklin lighting for these coaches. Maybe I will need to resort to making my own or installing the battery powered ones with motion detectors. I am still surprised at these beautiful passenger coaches with no options for lighting them though. |

Jim
I have almost all Märklin and mostly HO, although I do have a small number of Z gauge trains!

In the past M had the 7333 lightning set for the Württemberger wagons. I used those for my Württemberger train. Of course with a bulb. It came with a slider and a mass contact. I replace the couplers bij the RTS ones, removed the the sliders (except the one under the first car) Before I pushed the RTS couplers into the pockets I put the stripped part of the wire into the pocket. This worked for me. I think it should be possible to add some LED strips in those cars Picture made in 2005 Edited by user 05 February 2018 20:52:24(UTC)

Yep - that is the same for my older Wúrttermberger wagons too and right now only my newer ones remain unlighted. Thanks for the ideas. I don't want sliders on each coach and your approach is interesting. I will have to give that a try whenever I get around to working on the lighting for the new coaches. |

Well the US customers finally have their 2018 club order forms now.. so thats a good thing. For those wanting the steam engines, annual cars etc. The crocodile order form came out earlier and isn't on this just now delivered Märklin USA order form. Edited by user 29 March 2018 23:23:34(UTC)
| Reason: To correct that the US order forms that just arrived don't cover the Crocodile. |

Thanks Harold - I have no doubt just overlooked that earlier form since I did not plan to order that model anyway. I thought it was odd that the order form for the club wagon and BR 50 had a deadline of May 5, 2018, just one week after the deadline for the 39567. That is why I originally thought that I had not received the first Insider model form. I need to send the annual wagon form to my dealer soon though before I forget that too. He waits and sends it when he has other things to ship me, so at least I don't pay additional shipping on my "free" wagon. |

Last year 2017 version - Running number was E 94 217. Sorry Steven - I attended 2018, April 6th a Digital Info Day at a dealer in Germany again. Because of your post I had a hard dispute with the Maerklin man. He definitely said no changes of a number of the 39226 E 94 white. It remains with the running number E 94 217. From Marklin Insider Club 2/2018 Club news. Maybe available later? |

On the other hand the Märklin employee was also very confident. He said at the moment Märklin has no time for such minor things. All the white German Crocs he brought with him to the dealer were all named as the last year ones: E 94 217. Anyway as you see on the picture he had an “older” Croc with him and not the new Insider one. Normally at these days the new Insider models are introduced too. This time he cannot show us because even the preproduction model is not yet finished. This made him quite nervous. Also the Ludmilla BR 233 “The yellow Russian Tiger” (36431) gave him a headache. The Tiger did not want to smoke all day long! And shortly before closing in the late afternoon, he took the BR 233 off the tracks and gave her a rest and me a chance to test my just bought new loco E 50 for a run on his table. After a while he changed the engines back and believe it or not, the steam was perfectly functioning. It was really cute to see the steaming Ludmilla running around the track. Unbelievable. Well it sounds like Märklin is falling apart in the coordination and management or this poor representative sent to that info tag was completely unprepared and out of sync with what the company is doIng., which again is a bad sign for Märklin if their representatives are showing up with overruns from last year and in disagreement with the company literature.
On the plus side their company reps directly experience the failure of the piezo vaporizer system that is causing such consternation with the hobbyists. |

A warning to those who might not be aware; those steel rolls that go in the cradles inside this type of wagon get rusty very easily! Try to keep the wagon in a moisture free environment. |

Thank you very much Steven. Isn't this nasty from Märklin? OK, I bought this loco last year at a digital day. I thought it is a nice idea getting this identification number on this loco based by the year, because this edition is a fantasy one. I would not feel well, buying this year a model as E 94 217 knowing getting it later as E 94 218.
