This item is apparently only available on the SBB's new Gotthard Panorama Express (unless some guy buys it to make a profit for himself and puts it up for sale in an online auction):

It's a 43671, inside the set there's one. I think the seller is selling the items individually

Sorry, but I do not think that this is correct - please take a close look at the different liveries.

BTW, the new special car is also available from the cashier's desk on the steamboat "Stadt Luzern":

Very cool! I wonder if available from swiss MRR dealers, or elsewhere? And if there is a part number?

Stefan is quite accurate. This is not the first time that we have seen such a model. They used to sell the 4169 Dome car model on the Mittelthurgau Dome Car for passengers to keep as a souvenir.

This model of the panorama coach in it's new (special) livery probably was manufactured for Maerklin Switzerland and SBB and may eventually be available through the SBB Shop as well as on the train itself.

The owner of Roundhouse Model Trains in Zurich posted a cryptic message on the Swiss Hag Forum that he expects some news on the Gotthard Panoramic Sondermodell coach on Tuesday. I don't know if this will be in the form of an official announcement or whether he is expecting a reply to an inquiry made to Maerklin Switzerland and/or SBB.

Lovely! It seems as though the prototype is a standard 5 car train with 3 panorama cars, and 2 regular 2nd class IR coaches? I may need to order up a trio to run alongside my orphan 42166 car set and have a full train... (the spare 1st class coach from the 42166 will have to join another consist!)

Also- you guys think its safe to assume these are the standard 27cm dome coaches?

As Stefan reported, a number of Swiss dealers are announcing that the Gotthard Panorama Express coach will be available through Swiss Maerklin dealers.
The coach is simply a repainted version of the 1/100 (264mm) model used in the 43671 set.

Here is the consist that I would recommend:

Re 4/4II (either 34/37344 or 37348) - 43650.001 - 43671 (Pano) - 43650.001 - 43671 (Bpm) - 42160.01 - 42160.02 - 42160.03
Train length may vary depending on the day of travel

Unfortunately, Maerklin does not have a model of the RIC coaches that run in the actual train, so I have substituted the Bpm and the EWIV B coaches.

You can also run a single 43650.001 with your trains for the Munich and Stuttgart runs, as both trains have been seen with the GPE Panorama coaches in the past months.

Make your life easier:

order the coach of the new train scenic route of the SBB from Luzern (do not miss the "Verkehrshaus" thereBlink) - Gotthard - Ticino here:

http://www.suter-meggen....en/Maerklin_43650001.php

It is a coach based on the Maerklin article# 4365

https://www.maerklin.de/...te/details/article/4365/

and shall be produced by Maerklin only for the Swiss market with the subarticle# 43650.001.

So announced in the Stummi community.

Beside the scenic routes of the Glacier Express and Bernina Express the Swiss railway offers now a third scenic route over the Gotthard Pass, the Gotthard Panorama Express. This train runs on the old tracks with all its curves and tunnels to the South. A reason more doing a railroad holiday in Switzerland.Love

I was informed by SBB that the model should be available via Maerklin Switzerland in two weeks. In the interim, the model can be procured on the train and on the Lake Luzern steam boat.

I received my order this morning from Roundhouse.ch.

Marklin did a fantastic job, nicely done!

Seeing the pictures of the real train I can say yes I have that train in 1/87 scale!

My pair of Gotthard Panorama Coaches is now matched up with a pair of SBB Bpm EC (from a Startset) and a single SBB EWIV A (from the 42164) set.
I have a Panorama coach from the 43671 set that can be added to expand the consist.

I wonder if there are still models available on the train or boat?

I am sure that there are still some models left in Swiss shops here and there.
