I have a 6017 booster powered by a 60055 transfer and the booster has bit the dust  If I get a 60174 booster can I power it with the 60055 transformer? I have a CS2 (60125) and it is powered by a 60065. |

There has been a lot of discussion on power supplies and their applicability when used with various components and there are many subtleties involved. But the short answer is NO.  That booster requires a switched mode power supply and not a toy transformer. And BTW I have several 6017 boosters that I want to move along to a new owner.  |

I would have to disagree with you Jim, I have three 60174 Boosters running with 60055 transformers. The 60055 transformers were the only option before the switched mode power supplies came out I was however thinking of swithing over to switched mode power supplies. Aloha, Elliott |

I have two 60174 boosters with 60065 power supplies and had 2 6017 boosters with 60055 transformers. I am now down to one 6017 booster and was hoping to be able to use the 60055 transformer instead of buying another 60065 for a new booster. The purpose of the 6017s was to power K83 switches. Can I use the track side of a 6021 for that? I already have the connect 6021 device and am currently using 6040 keyboards for turnouts. |

I just noticed that in my original port I said that I had a CS2 (60125). It actually is a CS2 (60215).
I have one port still available on my 60125 terminal since I have 2 60174 boosters and a connect-6021 (60128). If I decide to replace both 6017 boosters, do I need another 60125 terminal or can I plug one of the new 60174 boosters in the last available port on the 60125 and the other in the 6017x port on the CS2? |
