Roger,
first of all, you should check this out:
http://www.alpnacher-mod...h/images/pdf/H0re446.pdfLimited production Roco Re 446 in newer SOB liveries
As far as Swiss items, there were a few interesting models. There was the Fas hopper car set, the Weiacher Kies sets (You need at least 3 sets (9 cars) to make up a reasonable size rake). There are the updated Wascosa tankers, which although labelled DB, they belong to a Swiss company.
I was very excited to see the RAlpin coach to go with the 47416/47417 ROLA sets. That will look amazing behind a BLS 482, 486 or 187.
The AAE Post cars will make for another nice consist behind a Cargo Lok or red Re 6/6 or Re 4/4II, as will the SBB Cargo container cars.
The Re 460 has the new livery and does not have the "2000" on the cab ends. I will be pleased to have a second one (along with my 37462).
The nice thing about modeling Swiss is that you can have rolling stock from all over Europe in your consists. From modern container cars to a mix of classic DB, FS and other freight cars behind an Ae 6/6 or Be 6/8.
You should also check other manufacturers as there were a lot of Swiss models this year. I am looking forward to the LSM Bm 4/4, the Roco (and other) BLS Re 475 (sure to come from Maerklin at some point). There is also the Piko Ae 4/7 which I am closely watching.
I would not worry about Maerklin too much. I see a lot of Swiss models in the future, including:
Swiss Rail Traffic Re 487 (privately owned 187)
SBB Cargo Class 193 (Vectron) both ELL and Reichsmuth/LokRoll models with 4 Pantographs (livery still not known)
These are also the possibility of a Re 420 Cargo. They have made a Re 421, but not yet a Re 4/4II in the Cargo livery.
I am still waiting to see what, if anything, Maerklin will announce as Export models for 2017.
You should also check Swiss websites to see if you missed any of the limited models that came out in 2015-2016, like the red Ae 6/6 with upgraded railings and wipers.
As I mentioned in response to a previous post about the Voralpen Express, you should check out HUI Modellbau. The chances of seeing a major brand version of this trainset is very unlikely, although a RBDe 561 consist is possible from Liliput (but the price would be high compared to say the KISS, Flirt or NPZ Domino models) due to increased production costs.
