I have a Marklin 3355 which does not run. Several wires were disconnected from the electronic module. Does any one have a picture of how the wires should be attached?

Regards
Bill

Thanks for the photo. Unfortunately, my electronic reverse is different. I have attached some photos. Apparently, very few engines used this unit. According to my Marklin parts catalog, only 3355 and 3360 share the reverseDSC05976.JPGDSC05977.JPGDSC05978.JPGDSC05980.JPGDSC05979.JPG

I can tell you that Märklin 3308 (Steam loco BR 85) also had this reverse unit, unfortunately my 3308 became digital 20 years ago or so, so I don't know how the original wiring was... Unsure

Basically it is a rectifier so the relay gets DC voltage and switches silently instead of jumping and making noise & bright lights...

There is a small wiring diagram in the spare part sheet for 3355 ...

The electronics is not a reverse unit - that is the solenoid device on the right of the photo that determines which direction the motor runs.

The electronic board i suspect is for constant brightness headlamps.

Hi Bill,
The blue wire resting on the chassis looks very sus to me ? worth checking if it is not broken.
I know I have one of these units but I will have to look hard to find it.
Cheers,
Howard.

I can see a brown wire with a lose end, but cannot see where the other end goes to. Is it off the PCB or off the loco frame?

I see a blue wire that is badly squeezed. If loco only runs in one direction, check that blue wire.

The PCB disconnects the motor from the reversing voltage to allow reversing without a jump.
Some locos also have low voltage lamps - the low voltage also comes from this PCB. I could be wrong but I think the 3355 has standard light bulbs (19 V type).

Tom

Hi bill

Here there are one picture of an electronic reverse unit from my 3309, but there are TELEX couplers as well:

And a drawing of this module with the connections:

And finally the plan from the 3355 spare parts drawing:

May be you will find them helpful
