I think the operative focus is around the "Digitale"
Also they use the term "D2" which appears to represent a variant of the C* designation.
My guess is that it is part of a new range of 2480* "D*" expansion sets that run parallel to the 2490* "C*" sets but
With
the inclusion of motors and decoder(s)
Thus the 24802 = 24902 plus digital components
If so and the decoder(s) are 74461's and not 60831's then I predict that the sales numbers will be close to zero.
Yet again I am on a different planet from Marketing.
If, and only if, you compare the RRP prices for the component parts on Marklins web site does this initially look good
Sure , replacing the 2x74461 with 1x60831 is still a 2.50 Euro more - but you end up with a better solution and 2 extra 60831 pairs ports which you can use for 2 other turnouts, or have a play with the advanced light functions.
However , should you refer any dealer, even the sum of the component parts (including the 74461) is less than there price for the 24802.
Exchanging the 74461s for a 60831 and comparing it with the 24802 I could by another 60831! for the same price.
Can someone please check my math.

I observed this price disparity when the 2490x sets first came out. I guess if Marklin make the set cheaper than the component parts then lots of sets will be sold to shops where they will get split ...
But it would be nice to have the set at around 5% cheaper than the component parts.

Lokshop is change the price on 2016 new items.
10% off 2016 items and Lokshop log in a extra 5% off price. Thats is total about 15% off RRP.
Lokshop is no longer 19% off.
That mean you pay 5% more if you order from today.
I have no more future orders on 2016 and 2017 new items (expert 2016 Christmas wagon) because 15% currency more expensive after brexit. Now I will look for cheaper Marklin 2nd hand stuff at Auction etc.
Sorry I did not order the CS3 because did not got nearly 20% off RRP.
