Hi everybody. Does anyone know why my MS2 don't save the esu decoder in memory? Every time i close the power, i have to register from begining the loco. Also it doesen't reconized at once. The MFX symbol flashes for long time and nothing hapend. I do it manualy with " find loco" option.

The only time I used a LP V4M it gave me so much grief trying to get it to register with mfx that I gave up on it and disabled mfx on the decoder. I now use it in MM mode, which is fine for me. |

There is a cv that you change to give you the digital system of your choice (mfx, MM or DCC) I registered the loco first as a DCC loco with the default address (3), then I used dcc to set the CV. You have to write the value 13 into CV 47 to disable mfx. If you don't have the manual for the decoder you can download it from the ESU website. |

You can check the track box version from the menu - just invoke Update Trackbox (or something to that effect), note the current version and cancel the process unless the MS2 suggests to upgrade from version 0.00 to version 1.39. Here is the list of the CV adresses you should adjust. CV28=value 0 CV29 - bit 3 - disable RailCom=value 0 CV47 are protocol selection. If you want just only M4 and MM,make sure to disabled bit 0 and bit 3 to value 0. CV47 bit 0 is for DCC. CV47 bit 3 is for Selectrix.
With those adresses you have possible to use with the MS2 to change value. If you want to use ESU sound decoder, make sure you have at least version 1.64 or higher in the MS2. |

The track box do have version from the Märklin. There is no reason to sell an track box without the version! When i did had Trix MS2 and the track box, there was version when i did bought them. I did upgrade track box too,to higher version and not only the MS2. To use all 16 functions with the ESU sound decoder M4,you must have anyway at least version 1.39 in the track box, which you was right in the earlier post. |

But yes, all those phreaking versions came from Märklin and passed all quality checks at the factory. IIRC the MS2 does not prompt to update the track box and the user has to start the upgrade manually. |
