Ordering Marklin Parts - Marklin not shipping parts to USA?

Joined: 23/02/2011(UTC) Posts: 171 Location: Kansas, USA		I was looking to order some small parts for two locomotives. I searched on the Marklin website and found what I needed. When I looked under the 'Shipping info USA' header it had the message "For technical reasons we are unable to ship in the United states. We ask for your understanding." Well, I don't understand. Does anyone know what 'technical reasons' they are speaking of?

And I assume Märklin do not compete with that special partner. Märklin charge full RRP for spare parts plus € 50 for postage and package and they do not exclude VAT. Long story short: any German mail-order dealer should be able to make a better offer. Walthers will be able to order the parts for you - but hearsay says this may take a while.

		Ray Mostly Marklin.Selection of different eras and European railways Small C track layout, control by MS2, 100+ trains but run 4-5 at a time.

Since it is the same as the newer 37028 I was looking at the exploded view and found the part number 3 for a Rohre leitungen and a part number 22 for a Zugstange. Also, I have a 37982 K.Bay.Stats BVl. There was not an exploded view of this Loco but I did find an item number E253502 for a Pfeife, Laterne. It's price was 15 euros. ($16.34). These parts will no doubt be expensive but i like to have my locos as perfect as possible. As HO and Ray have suggested I will try Lokshop or another source.

I'm talking some obscure parts like pieces to Marklin locomotives from the 1970s. Sometimes it might take a little while but other times it's lightening fast. I guess it depends on your item. Lokshop is also excellent as the other members have posted. Happy hunting. Ken

Whatever happened to sending a small package (a few grams) as insured mail instead of a package (up to 2Kg). I have since placed the same parts order with one of my European dealers who will mail it to me in a letter. Regards Mike C

One part order was indeed a long time in coming, but he warned me that might be the case ahead of time, and I did get the part within the time frame he mentioned.

One thing is sure: LokShop were not to blame, the parts were not in stock at Märklin for a long time. With the Märklin "shop" you can only order parts they have in stock. With LokShop you can also order parts Märklin do not have in stock, but will get again. IMHO another major disadvantage of the Märklin shop.
