Hi all,
I have been trying to figure out how many different TEE trains Marklin made. At this point there sees to be a lot. Does anyone know how many and what the Marklin numbers are?
I was thinking of getting the 3471 or the 36705.
Thanks, Lance

Hi, Lance, I don't know if there is a complete list. Originally Posted by: lmedberry I was thinking of getting the 3471 or the 36705. The former is a Dutch TEE, the latter a German TEE. There also are Swiss, French, Italian TEE trains, some were powered railcars, some had locomotives. Do you prefer a specific railway company? |

Hi Tom, I was either thinking German, Swiss or Dutch railways. So many different choices.
I have the early 3053 electric locomotive with the approximate coaches in analog. I like the look of the diesels and upgrading to digital layout as well.

You have plenty of choices : the Swiss/Dutch Ram500 / DE1000 is 3070+4070, 3071+4071, 3471, 39700 the Swiss Rae1050 "Gottardo" is 39540 (consist of 5 coaches) or 37547 (consist of 6 coaches) the German VT11.5 is 37605, 37604 "Helvetia" (NH2016), 37607 "Mediolanum"
Combining red/cream coaches with E03, E10.12 DB, Re4/4 I, Re4/4 II SBB you can build many different TEEs; some are available as sets, e.g. 26557 TEE "Bavaria" If you don't stick to red/cream livery, you can build French TEEs using CC40100 SNCF (e.g. 39405) and TEE inox coaches (e.g. 41874) Also the recently released ET403 Lufthansa Airport Express 37779 was considered an "internal TEE" while the well known red "Capitole" (28590) was not a TEE. And I'm sure I forgot many others

I have the following TEE trains:
26577 SBB Re 4/4I (from Set) with Roco 45924 TEE Rheingold coaches 303mm (I also have the 42990 Rheingold with the Apmz from the 42991 Helvetia Set 270mm) 26577 SBB Re 4/4I, SBB WRm Diner and DB TEE coaches (TEE Bavaria) (282mm) (Full Set) 37343 SBB Re 4/4II with Trix 23477 TEE Roland DB Coach Set (282mm) 22148 SBB Re 4/4II with 42991 TEE Helvetia Set (with additional coach) (270mm) 37349 SBB Re 4/4II with 43854 and 43856 TEE Helvetia DB coach set (282mm) Roco 78401 SBB Re 4/4II with Lima 149757 TEE/IC DB Coaches Roco 79373 SBB Re 4/4II with Roco 44117/44118 DB TEE coach Set Hag 216 with assorted Marklin DB TEE coaches (4295/4296/4297/4247/etc) (270mm) or Roco 45802/45803/45811 DB TEE coaches (303mm+)
I also have the following non-Swiss model Marklin 39579 DB BR 103 which can be used with any of the above (other than the Rheingold).
I also have the following trainsets: 39540 SBB RAe TEE Gottardo 3471 NS DE 1000 TEE Edelweiss 17521S LS Models RAe TEE Cisalpin (like the Gottardo but exact scale) 17501 LS Models RAm TEE Edelweiss (like the 3471 but exact scale)
My recommendations would be the LS Models Gottardo or the Roco 79373 with the 43854/43856 DB TEE coach set. The Roco model is the best Re 4/4II because of details and sound, which is far better than the others.
I did not go for the 6 unit RAe (37547) as I already had this train (TEE Cisalpin) from LS Models
Regards

And still Roco has made 2 sets with the very nice FS TEE coaches, these should go also with the FS E 444 that the same ROCO is re-issuing this year. Here are a few pics of the 2 Roco railcars Cheers Jacques |

I am impressed by both the list of TEE sets by Mike and the photographs from Jacques and was unaware of most of the models mentioned. I have one of the original TEE trains , the 3070 Marklin Edelweiss produced from 1965 to 1970 with two 3070 intermediate cars all purchased on ebay. The train was upgraded by Scott at Helmuts Hobbies with a high efficiency motor, digital control and LED lighting. It runs well on my M track layout , have some R1 curves and appreciate the short car length .
