Correction: 16:00 hrs! that would be about the normal time about 2 weeks before the show and they are seeming to wanting to cement the range a bit more to provide some depth to supply, bearing in mind the 40% increase in production out of the Gyor new factory, and the freight side stock depth is also being increased which is an area I think they have lost a lot of sales by not making enough. Freight sells all year and guys can always find the money for another wagon or two etc, but things have been tough in Europe, and a lot of spare cash has probally gone from extra cash helping the refugees, and the china shakedowns are going to effect a lot of economies this year, including Australia could be hit hard, and that could roll over into other countries near by |

Nope you suppose. In fact does Märklin present everytime old models and they stand about 80-85%. I would be very surprise if Märklin did only present new train models, which i mean new train models that never been produced before. That is what i call news! I´m not even surprised if Märklin did present same insider model 2015 with another computer number. Just look at BR10...not even surprised. I would be surprised if Märklin did present CS3plus and CS3 as complete system, which means no more upgrades. Edited by moderator 12 January 2016 20:30:22(UTC)

All Marklin "Close to the core" parties have been asked not to disclose any details on the 2016 new items before the embargo is lifted by Marklin. I honoustly think we have to respect that,as difficult as it may be. Only two more sleepless nights to go! |

The MS is not materially different in terms of functionality. It has been updated with color screen and new HW for improved performance. The number of functions that can be accessed remain the same and it still does not have wireless connectivity!

Yes, I realise that but if Stephen has the full details already (as originally hinted at in his Facebook post, which has since been edited to remove that comment) then someone 'Close to the core' has leaked that information to him....... Furthermore, if Stephen has embargoed details he probably shouldn't be posting any information about the new items until after they are released. https://www.facebook.com...in/posts/995812317158366Edited by user 13 January 2016 10:34:59(UTC)

If M doesn't want speculation better it keeps the information inside doors and announce it to dealers just before it turns it public domain. I can wait but I don't see any reason for not talk about the rumours. I also don't think the forum will be looked as "bad" by some M or most dealers because of talk about those rumours. Maybe some will, but I don't think everybody needs to think the same.
It is very good idea to have a color display in MS. Mobile phones have that for some time, and the technology doesn't seem to be expensive if we it doesn't use a super high quality (resolution, color accuracy, how it reflects light, work in presence of strong light, etc)display. Was also nice to have different color covers like for the cell phones, but off course it is not important.
I am very curious if will appear a new BR18 - S3/6 or about a new Croc as the item numbers suggest.
We must also understand that during 2016 a considerable number of products will also be announced in addition to the ones that will soon be announced.

Best regards, Miguel

Dealers will always have the NI information a reasonable time before the release date, as they need that time to enter the information into their shop database, and determine what items they believe will sell through their stores, and get initial orders in to the manufacturer. And as for rumours, it is nice to speculate and think what WE would like to see, versus what the manufacturer sees as a viable product in the marketplace.

First pictures of the Dutch constructiontrain 29256 are on internet. The loco is a NS 1652 series 4 axle electric. There is the well known 3 axle German crane,a 2 axle flatcar in NS blue to support the crane,a 4 axle open goodscar, and a 2 axle closed goodscar. All very much in line with the French constructiontrain released earlier. The set does not reflect any prototype of such a train. The NS did not operate series 1600 electric loco's for such trains, nor was the German crane used in The Netherlands. It would be rather dangerous to operate a crane under live wires having either 1,500 volts DC or 25,000 volts AC. Nevertheless it is a nice set for youngsters,be it that the price is a bit stiff. The loco could be used to pull the well known NS Intercity coaches, sure. I do not think i am breaching the Marklin embargo with this because i am not part of the Marklin innercircle! |

So, why not go here instead of speculating about it? I presume a possible "CS3" will be presented at the Nueremberg Toy Fair in February as new highlight. |

The marklin app is a free software which is available for android and apple phones and tablet. Yesterday there was a major update to this app. Someone on stummi pointed out that this update included a few videos. If it is not possible to access it from the device, it is possible to access those data if you connect the device to a computer with a usb cable and explore the marklin folder in the android folder.
The video and those capture are alll about the Cs3. There is no info about the cs3plus.

The diagram as shown shows the CS3 at the heart of the system.

That app shows up in the playstore as being installed, but I can't find it on the phone. Maybe it was installed on another device (I recently had my phone replaced) or my tablet.
Anyway, I see it is downloading now - all 186mb of it!

I do not know the exact location as I downloaded the Marklin App on my iPad and also got it via iTunes on my iMac. Then unzip the Marklin 1.5.ipa on the iMac, in the payload directory 'show package contents' for the MarklinAR.app. Videos can be found in the data/raw directory. |

This is what I'd call a rumpty app - no documentation, no intuitive operation, Mickey Mouse could write something better than this!

Copy of the video, which Clapcott kindly sent me. My take on the CS3 from what is seen in the video - a better and improved CS2. I don't see anything on the rear panel that suggests there is a Loconet port (but this picture probably only shows 3/4 of the rear panel). maerklin_cs3.mp4 (7,982kb) downloaded 89 time(s).

Based on the video, it also misses the s88/legacy boosters ports.
I hope M doesn't kill the legacy booster compatibility and they have some extra (and really cool) surprises. |
