Lee,
That is a nice machine!
For current sales prices check ebay.de,type in Marklin 3036,and opt for Sofort Kaufen (=Buy Direct). Price depends on general condition, anything between Euro 80 and Euro 200 i would say. My guestimate is Euro 100 if loco and box are in mint condition. Most analogue loco's from that period are in that price range.
My suggestion: keep it!
Note there is an orange version too, sold as Primex 3007. Primex was a B-brand made by Marklin. There is one for sale on ebay.de for Euro 91.67,in mint condition!
Cheers, Paul. |

Thanks for the reply Paul. The price range seems to vary quite a lot going by the german ebay page, found one valued at 449 euros[ seems steep] and the other ones in different conditons with and without boxes ranged at about 80 to 100 euros. http://www.ebay.de/itm/M...186368942&rmvSB=true

Lee,
Do not get fooled by sellers trying to make the quick buck! You find these people on internet all the time. The given price of Euro 449 is beyond all proportions, note that machine is not even in mint condition,he says it has scratches. Once again,Euro 100 should do it for your machine.

Your locomotive seems to be a mint 3036.2 from the 1960s, if the box on your pictures is the one that it was originally sold in. The wheels prove that it was definitely made before 1974, when Märklin modified the flanges, and the fact that it's still mint suggests that your box is probably the original one. If you check out the printing code inside the box, you can tell when the box was made and find a matching instruction manual on Ebay, which isn't difficult for this model. For example, 69 366 MA 0164 ni tells you that the box was printed in January 1964 (0164). With the instruction manual, your 3063.2 will have a value of 120-140 euros because it's mint. Just a tip for you: Upload the photos you want to display on this forum to a picture hosting website such as picr.de and copy the link you get there into your thread, so those users who would like to look at your photos do not have to download them onto their hard disks. Best regards, Mark |
Best regards, Mark
I like Märklin items produced in the 1960s or early '70s, but also digital locos & current rolling stock. |

Best regards, Mark Or better still, resize the photo before uploading it either by taking the photo at a lower image size on the camera, or re-sizing it (as I have done here) using any of a zillion free utilities including MS Paint which is in every version of Windows. I am not a fan of photo hosting sites because the photos can be easily deleted any time afterward (accidentally or deliberately) and then making much of the thread pointless. Ideally, the forum software would automatically detect images which exceed the size able to be displayed in the thread and either warn of the limitation, or preferably offer to resize on the fly. It's been discussed by the moderators many times and is one of those "wouldn't it be nice" wish-list features we'd love to see. |
