It certainly is supposed to be the set for the Series 95 loco. It consists of G10 cars (which is a common German type of standard closed goods cars). Pictures of the set and the loco have just been released by Märklin. Will appear here shortly. Cheers, |

Marklin must have gone insane! The first Insider model of a year with cars/coaches is typically between 600 and 800 Euros. This pattern seems to work well and they'd be insane to stop it. The BR 85 #37096 is listed with an RRP of 329.95 Euros. The twin-set #37098 was a real bargain with an RRP of 499.95 Euros. New tooling, more separately applied details - and there we are with an RRP of 400 Euros. |

Nevertheless,i will not pay 400 Euro's for a small tender loco like the series 95,but i must say it looks very smart, the new way of presenting models by M is first class. This website is visited by people with many different financial backgrounds,no problem,if you can afford to buy it,buy it! I have in mind to spend 400 Euro's on a 3302 series 53 in grey plus a 34080 series 10 Black Swan, both fully analogue without sound,of course. Have fun with your 39095! |

I would like this model have cab light, telex and synchronized smoke like the announced Roco BR85 (when I mention Roco I refer to smoke). The Roco costs 500 euros (or may be 499, I don't remember). Seems the synched smoke is expensive, or if not, M* is not so expensive :-) Edit: I would like the wagons set weathered... |

Just watched Marklin TV news in German. The car set for the 39095 will have a total of 7 cars,of which 5 are type G10. I believe the set is shown in the clip. All the cars are standard DB brown, some have brakecabins, others have not. Loco and cars should reflect running conditions in the early fifties. |

No Telex - seems is expensive. In my opinion it should have some kind of official retrofitting, so if installed the loco would loose value as a collectable item.
Good that it has cab lighting!
Pitty the wagons are not weathered. The wagons set of Insider BR58 may fit this loco very well too.
When I first knew it was a BR95 i was not very interested, but after see the images my interest greatly increased. It seems with much better look then the Piko or Fleis* ! I hope the build quality is great as in most M* models. Really hoping to see on MTV it being built in Europe.

PS- The 39095 do came with smoke unit. |

Anyway, it might be more imaginative for Marklin to introduce a couple of Oppeln type cars into a set like that, to make it even more representative and desirable. To give you an overview of the ratio of closed car types in use on the DRG and DB, 122,000 of the G10 were built starting 1909. Over 29,000 of the Oppeln cars were built 1933-1937. In contrast, the longer Dresden type (which Marklin pushes in a lot of their sets including this one), less than 6,000 were ever built. Marklin offered the Oppeln cars in 2009, in a boxed range numbered 00773. https://static.maerklin.de/media/ac/cb/accb5a5cf58d7d064bae69c92bd0f8db1434538960.jpgregards Kimball |

I didn't know about the quantity of G10 and also how it compares to quantities of other types but I am impressed with the huge difference. About 20 years ago I bough the short/normal Oppeln cars from Liliput because at the time it costed less than half the price of the M* ones. just needed to shorten the space between wheels in each axle and they look really good and are resistant enough. Maybe one day I will try to weather those Liliput cars. I have never weathered cars, so it will be a bit risky, but I think sooner or later I will try. Regards, Miguel |

Hello, ESU is selling, or at least has announced, H0 BR94 with "Load dependent, fan based and axle controlled smoke generator with temperature control" as you can read in the "Model" tab of ESU BR94 / T16. As much as I know they are not selling the smoke units for HO as they sell components (like for example they sell decoders). I think they announced those units for 0 and 1 gauges. Probably you can buy it as a spare part for their BR94... Regards, Miguel |

Over 122,000 G10 type closed box cars were built by the earlier and DRG railroads, and they were the most common type of closed van in Germany. The next most common type was the Oppeln, with only 30,000 examples built. Two G10 model box cars in this set are completely new for Marklin, having the "economy" brakemans cab, which was a cut down version. The cab no longer extended over the roof. regards Kimball |

Hi all interested in the BR95. This month the German LOKmagazin includes a free 2016 poster style calendar in black&white. It features the BR95 95 021, photo taken showing the early 1950s lettering. The picture meaures approximately 700 x 300mm. Regards Kimball |

Hi all, I have read somewhere in Marklin literature, that the 39095 BR95 will be the only HO gauge steam locomotive produced this year for Insider club members.
This means that the traditional second Insider model will be either a diesel or electric, (or something else).
Any guesses as to what that might be??
regards Kimball |

regards Kimball I don't think they have done two locos of the same type within the year for Insider members yet. The second has always had a different method of propulsion as far as I can remember. So I would suggest that it will be a diesel or electric or some form of railcar, probably a variant of something that has already been produced considering the current 'austerity' new items. Personally I don't have a VT95/795 railbus, so one of those would be welcome.

I hope (and presume!) that this type will be released by Märklin in her early green livery in a way Liliput released a most splendid edition in 1981. © 14.2.2009Kind regards Frits Osterthun

Bound to be some fanciful schemes as well, anyone for a royal blue with gold bands to match the 31806 set and this years Nurnberg Show loco? Give it ten years maybe ...

I am sure the Prussian T 20 (late BR95) in green livery will be next final borsig edition 5.
Total 45 locomotives was build in 1922-1924 from Borsig / Hanomag. |

Love the box!
It looks black on my screen. Is it really dark blue? |

If I didn't already have the Piko BR95 I'd be all over this. |

I've been looking again at this loco; in particular about how the prototype was used.
It seems the Br95 was used very much the same way as the Br85 was used, as a pusher or helper loco in mountainous terrain. The Br85 had its home in the Black Forest whereas the Br95 was found mainly in the East. The Br96 Mallet was also used in this way in Bavaria.
I already have a Br85 and a Br96 so I have been reluctant to commit to another heavy tank engine with the same role. What do others think? Is anyone else thinking on the same lines as I am? |

I love my 3309 digitalized BR85 with sounds. It was worth every penny to convert. It now has super slow running characteristics and the sound is very well coordinated. I am really looking forward to the BR95. It should be arriving soon and I will definitely make a video with it alone. I will probably run it as a layout Lok as I will keep the BR85 (it has Telex) near the new yards area for shunting duties. Peter

I just received my Insider BR 95 and is very similar, of course. Great sound, whistle, etc. Runs very well, too. |
