I think your Google translate needs an update.
Per.
You avoid from the word Power by distinguishing the two words.
There s no need to update google translate.

Ström=stream...flow...torrent...onflow...flux...power...current...yes i did understand.

I hope BD will accept this

You are correct that ström is current; but explaining this to "everybody" can be quite hard, so I didn't comment on that minor error.
However, current doesn't spike without a reason; either the voltage or the resistance has to change before the current changes.
( Unless you have a current generator, which is very unusual, and it can't be to used as a power supply for any Märklin equipment. )
Following Ohm's law and a bit of knowledge, it is the voltage that can change a little, making the current change at the same time.

This is not correct Per!
When you connect voltage to trafo without to use it,the power or current whatever you say is not using.
When you start use trafo power/current start to use to feed to outsource.
The power detonation are result when it happens interference via power/current.
I didn´t said it happens all the times, but sometimes it do happens interference which result to power detonation.
If you did just write swedish language "ström spikningar" translate to english, you will get same result to "power detonation".

I rest my case, too much struggling in vain, even for me.

I like that phrase, "Power detonation"
I get mental pictures of transformers exploding, scattering white-hot bits of copper everywhere...
Nothing like a bit of exitement in the train room!

However when I use Google translate with this phrase it thinks it is Icelandic, which produces a real weird translation.
And the alternative words provided are insufficient and do not match Pers translation, which in English makes much more sense.

Maybe it would be a good idea to use the correct term in Swedish, which is "spänningsspik", before translating it to English.
Then Google translate gives you:
Voltage spike.
( Translating "power detonation" from English to Swedish in Google gives: "Effekt detonation". )

Yes, we know that Goofy, we all tried that ourselves. But that doesn't mean that Google is providing a correct translation. The term 'Power Detonation' makes no sense in this context, and means something entirely different to what you are talking about - images of power stations exploding come to mind as Ray points out.
Believe me, Per is correct when he uses the term 'voltage spikes' (and since Per is an electrical engineer he does know what he is talking about).
I did warn you Goofy not to carry on this argument, and since this topic has deviated from its original theme, I'm going to lock it.
