I have a c-track layout with 8 switches and use (alternately) the Mobile Station 2 or a 6021 with keyboard for control. Both work fine for the locomotives but both have challenges with the turnouts (all have 74460 and 74490s). I can get keyboard 1 settings 1, 2, 5, and 6 to work, but no others??? I tested all decoders on these settings, and they work fine, but only for those for switch numbers. I can't get the MS2 to recognize the turnouts at all.
There is nothing wrong with the turnouts, decoders or motors, so I must be doing something wrong with the controls. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Steve

The keys on old 6021s fail sometimes - and the keys of the keyboard may not be better. So there could be problem with some keys on the keyboard (rust or dirt). Pressing harder may have an effect. The MS2 never recognizes any turnouts. It just "shouts" its commands, but does not check if anybody's listening. Set the turnouts to addresses 1 through 8, make sure solenoids in the MS2 are set to MM (not DCC) and try turnouts 1 through 8 in the MS2. The two keys in the middle (right and left from the display) are used to activate the turnouts, other keys are used to flip through the list of turnouts. Thanks Tom. I just tried both suggestions and still no results on the MS2 and the keyboard still only addresses 1,2 5 and 6. Any other suggestions?
