Anyway in the MM 1/2013 there is a photo of a green croc that is like the one of the 37565 set. I mean with the handrails arrangement and with the 2 side doors operational. So the current green one represents something that really existed.

In a few minutes I have been able to find several more huge mistakes in design and construction. 1. The station sound is clearly not coming from the little speakers on the station platform, but from somewhere inside the loco! This is unforgiveable! 2. The thickness of the glass in the cab windows is aproximately 20 times scale thickness. This is huge! Come on, Marklin, can't we get any closer to scale? 3. The driver figure is clearly too rigid. He should be looking down at his controls sometimes and in his mirrors at other times. Also, how can you possibly accept a driver that stays in the same cab irrespective of which way the loco is going? 4. The headlight beams are very unrealistic! The light intensity is all wrong, and the beam is not focussed at all! This looks nothing at all like a real loco headlight beam! I'm afraid I'm going to have to cancel my order. I'm sure I can get a Crocodile from another manufacturer without these glaring mistakes...

Indeed, I think it is damaged because the needle doesn't move

Maerklin also had an external sound module with one of their Hobby Sets (BR 146 AFAIR). I guess that you could take any loksound decoder with the right sounds and build it into the station/platforms. It is fun to have the station announcements, but yes, it does look and sound funny when the train is halfway around the oval by the time the announcement mentions which track it was on. I guess they intend for us to use only when the train is in the station and not while moving. Regards Mike C

Just play the sound you want ... This off course needs a PC, but in other way you can have a pair of monitors and have really great sound! :)

But some people are really not satisfied for anything and those should realise that these are model railroad items and not real 1:1 prototypes. At our local finnish MRR sites there are many people who build their own locos, wagons etc. And they have to be just like the prototypes. I dont want to go that route and I dont have any finnish MRR items. Märklin dont produce any as our rail width is narrower than in other Europe. It is very boring to read those finnish MRR forums and those "purists" comments. I really appreciate how well those things are made though. But without any traction tires they are not good pullers. Thank god we have this wonderful Märklin international forum!!! PS. I got my 13th Crocodile yesterday and it is the green Softdrive Sinus version from digital starter set 29680. As number 13 is not a good luck number I really have to get very fast the 14th and 15th Crocodiles to avoid bad luck . Maybe these nice 37565 new Crocodiles next then? Janne

Hi Andrey, I was in Jorma´s shop yesterday and saw the first time these new Crocs. I definitely want the brown version and the green can be bought many years afterwards if needed later. Jorma has an very steep R1 (24130) ramp in his layout and told me that these new Crocs are very good climbers. They beat the previous models in this very challenging climb. Only for this reason one brown one MUST be bought. I like this brown model, but I also like very much those 39560-39565 as You. Also the 3756 both versions (Be 6/8 III and Ce 6/8 III) looks very good. I have both these 3756 (green) versions, 39561 (brown), 39562 is like my two brown 31860 but these have that "1859" road number, 39563 is like my 29680 Swiss starter-set Croc, but again this has only different road number. Then I have that full sound brown 39565 Ce 6/8 III that is really nice model. So there is seven previous generation Crocs in my collection. Then one analog green Be 6/8 III (3300). Five of my Crocs are from the "older generation", but all of them are anyway factory digital and four of them with mfx. 36159 brown Insider, 31859 green mfx, 31860 two green mfx and one 31860 white mfx Croc. I have good protection in my MRR room.... Be careful with the angry Crocs . So thanks for info that we have wider and not narrower rail width. I knew that we have the same rails as You in Russia. (its already there) I will ask Jorma to test it carefully on his fine layout - this happens with all my locos - cause, you know, return from Moscow is complicated. As for the 37567 - road number (142013) tells me that it is fantasy color scheme. BTW black Croc was already issued once as 39564 with road number 1859 - actually the year when Maerklin was founded. I think I will get it around mid April (when some of my acquaintances bring it from Finland). At the moment, I'm very much interesting in new Croc, when I say that it looks odd and I still like old ones - it doesn't mean I refuse from 37565. Once again, you must be very happy man since you own such beautiful models like 39562 and 39565. Last weekend I saw 39562 in Moscow (new, price is 675 euro) and stood about 10 minutes in front of the showcase - so amazing model it is. And 39565 with full sound (BTW never seen it available in major Finnish shops) is also superb, fantastic model. Now, when my dream is almost true, and my first ever Croc is just in 1100 km from me, I'm looking forward to enjoy that model and not thinking how to sell it, you know! Hope your dreams also will come true and you'll get even 37567 black Croc. Cheers, Andrey

This is what the package looked like when opened. 		Märklin H0 digital layout. I have analog and digital H0 Collection. Rolling stock mostly from era I, II, III and IV. Märklin 1 gauge beginner.

( not the very best) Sorry The windows( transparent plastic) are missing My local dealer said he will fix it But there is a rumer about a so called second class Märklin, which are forsale in Göppingen????? I have been at the Märklin museum( old and new) and the Märklin Days. I have never seen any second class Märklin for sale. The tell me that the boxes have a triangle shaped hole cut in them. And that the loco have a triangle carved onto it. Bertil

Sometimes the loco gets a sharp knock in transit and parts like windows can get dislodged. This has happened to me in the past, with both locos and wagons.

		Matt Era 3 DB lokos, coaches and freight cars from across Europe But I do have the obligatory (six) SBB Krocs ECoS 50200, all FX and MFX decoders replaced with ESU V4s, operated in DCC-RailCom+ with ABC brake control. With the exception of the passenger wagens with Marklin current conducting couplers, all close couplers have been replaced with Roco 40397.

Hi Matt, I await my 37565-01 with trepidation The good news for you guys in the USA, is that with the purchase of Marklin by Simba/Dickie there will most likely be a new USA distributor, unless it is already W that distributres Schuco etc. However S/B sound determined to move ahead with Marklin and they would not have bought it without that goal in mind and considered it a realistic one. Just hang on for a moment and see what they come up with !

It should be very much a one-off occurrance. The fact that Bertil says that his local dealer will fix it is encouraging. Of course, once is once too many if it happens to you, but hopefully the vast majority of the locos will not have any missing parts.

If there are metal lids pressing against the axle, the pressure may be too high or the lids may have grates that should be removed. Sometimes the wheels seems to turn a bit, so it is not completely stuck. Hopefully it'll be easy to fix this. BTW: when hauling a train, there should be a single white light at the rear end. Red light is used when loco is at the end of the train (e.g. when it's running solo).
