Just goes to show -- when I looked 37266 up in the Märklin database, it looked frankly unimpressive, but your photos show how it actually looks -- very nice! I'm tempted myself Smile

I saw this Roco SNCB class 59 and I thought I'd try it. It was about one third the price of a Marklin one.

UserPostedImage

The body is plastic, but the detailing is about the same as on the Marklin version. This one brings the triple lights at each end, which makes it a different variation.

Running is acceptable, but boy is it sensitive to dirty tracks![:0] I had to go all over the layout with a track rubber to get decent running.

All in all, for what it cost, I think it's OK.

BTW, this is my 43rd loco, and my first Roco. The only other non-Marklin I have is an old Lima.

I received my loco #40 for "Reyes" (6/1-08 ="Holy Three Kings" =traditional christmas boxing-day in Spain)

Actually. The shop didnt have M. E50 left, so they suggested my wife that she surprice me with the BR03 loco dobbel-pack.
Well, THAT went back fast, and 2 days later I had the E50!

It is a VERY beautifully done loco. Looks like it will be a true M. classic!

Light-change, silent running and super-strong pull, even at lowest voltage.
It supposedly has a couple of sounds, but as I run analogue, I cant activate them.
I hope I can live with it´s absolutly coasting-free drive, because it is a very nice loco!
Best regards

I've just become the proud owner of this beauty:

UserPostedImage

It's a 34112 Delta version. I think these have the small "Maxon" type motor, so it should be easy to replace the decoder with a Lokpilot.

It'll probably take 2 to 3 weeks to get here from Germany. I'll post pictures on my layout when it arrives.

Hi Ray. Yes, I've transformed a few weeks ago a #3511 with a lokpilot (it's almost the same model and also the motor should be the same). It works pretty well, but be careful on setting the CVs because its motor is very sensitive.

Nice model indeed biggrin

Very nice, Steven,

I have the 3690, which is the same but with a coal tender (class 011).

I converted mine with a 60760 set, and it runs beautifully now.

Update Jan 16 2008. As you can see from my earlier post, I wanted to downsize. I have sold over 15 engines. But the downsizing hasn't happened. Currently at 248 PLUS 3 enroute from my dealer.[:I]

At the time I wrote the original, we were limited to 80 addresses, but of course with MFX, that is no longer true. It's only added to my shame.[:(]
