Just over a month ago i had nothing. Now i have 18 steamers and 2 diesels. Ok ok ok.....its a bit of a lie,as i have 2 analog br 23's.1 is perfect the other is sans motor but looks perfect and can be used as "double up".Both are now retired. There is 1 class 18 that is perfectly running, but analog. So it fills a shed with insulation tape over the shoe hehehehe. Then ive got 1 analog br 44 with smoker and lights working, but sans engine as well.Bought it for next to nothing and im going to make me own langer heinrich or whatever they called it. And there is 1 old Lima just to fill a shed with. Ive got BR45 brand new Ive got the streamlined class 10 Oilfired BR01 2 Br03's one with Witte 1 with Wagner deflectors. The big 2-6-8-0 Borsig. 2 class 44's 1 class 52 1 3614 class 18.3 The V11 TEE Ive already paid for 39050 and for a new class 44 with sound and stuff. But for now thats enough.I need to get the lay-out up and running. |

Up by one today. 37184 BR 18.4. MFX Runs Ok. Smoke generator that was fitted by dealer is not all that great. Does not seem to be any control. SOunds are Bell and Whistle. No Chuff Chuff. Pulled the 4228 Set around the layout and up the hills OK. Nev |

Good catch, Nev. I've been looking out for a nice 37184 for a while now. It's one of my favourite types.
I nearly got a 3618, which is very similar but with the older 6080 decoder. It's also got the "Rheingold rings" on the chimney.

Yup, just been looking at these, Nev. I think the loco you refer to was from eBay seller mikes-inn, and he was selling the 37184 for 199 euro I think. Of course when you take VAT off, it would have been around $380 - $400 NZ with postage. Should have got it!!

You are Correct. I should have cancelled local order but thought that should support the local dealer sometimes. $500AUD Plus Mikes-Inn was a Real Good Buy. New in BOx FX WIth Sound would have been about $370 AUD Landed. If Vat was to be taken off much cheaper. N |

Dealer sent an email that the BR05 was in stock! Once it arrives I will have the following dozen:
BR24 (my first locomotive 3003 converted to MFX and my first conversion) 2 BR86s (one Delta, one analog, both with Telex) 2 BR81s (one Delta, 3031 on the operating table for conversion) BR74 (analog) BR85 (converted from digital to MFX with sound, with help from this forum) V200 ($10 3021 from e-bay converted to digital. Nice, heavy locomotive!) V160 (MFX from starter set. Great way to get the Central Station and a locomtive or two) BR50 (MFX from starter set) E41 (analog) BR05 (Insider model '07)
I guess I should find one more locomotive to make a proper baker's dozen!
Any suggestions for Era 3? |

Thanks for the input Guus. The BR44 would be a nice fit since it is a freight locomotive. I could use that as I have quite a bit of passenger traffic on my layout and not so much freight. I will have to start searching.... |

I noticed something unusual with my just arrived 3085.When the loco going backward derails because the first wheel of the tender leave the rails.Have any member experience with this model? [:(]

Panayotis,
I have a 3085, and I have never had a derailment. Have you checked that there is enough weight in the tender? There should be a metal piece in there to add weight.
If the reversing switch has been replaced with a decoder you might have to add a bit more weight as well.
