John, I am in the process of converting an old 3048 locomotive to digital. Thank you for the picture, following my question to you. I can see what you mean. Now just waiting for my conversion kit to arrive. In the meantime, I checked out the wheels and the gears of the locomotive to see how she is going to run. To find that 1 of the gear wheels need to be replaced. The drive armature slips a little on the top wheel. I need to order 20515 for the loco to run smoothly.  Regards,  John
