Wow, nice locos, I'm myself a proud owner of such a douple header. There's one point: if I remember right, the US railroaders call the early Amtrak F7 livery "Bloody nose" not "Red nose". So, IMHO, eventually you might rename them to "Rocky" instead of "Rudolph" Hans Martin

Right, Nev. But not necessary since for Little Enzo she only has to be super-sturdy [}:)] And when it comes to mine - she can stay on analog level just the way she is. Got to save space on digital level for those many new US-locos still to be released ... [xx(] |

The 37668 Nohab is considered a US loco? I believe it is Swedish, but i saw a film with that loco running in USA. |

You're right Nikos.. It's Swedish. From M's catalog: "Prototype: Class TMY for the privately owned Swedish railroad TÅGAB. Former Danish class MY 1100. Painted in the color scheme of the Great Northern Railroad for a movie project." The movie was Dancer in the Dark by Lars von Trier and was shot in Denmark, Sweden, and France. The lok (TMY 106 former DSB MY 1108) was not repainted after the movie production, never left Sweden AFAIK, and can still be seen on display.. http://www.sjk.se/tag/lokbild/tmy_105_020601.jpghttp://www.jarnvag.net/bild/lok...Kristineh2003MBlstor.jpghttp://www.finnmoller.dk/rail-d...-odense/togab-tmy106.jpg |

And congrats on the recent lokos guys! I would much have preferred the 'Bloody Nose' livery from Southern Pacific over the 'Daylight' scheme that they gave us in the recent PA-1 Ah well, I guess M will give us many a PA-1 livery in the coming years [}:)] |

Thanks Per, i am trying really hard to find some f7s after your raid in f7 market. By seeing your collection i realised that you do not have the 37621, well you must get that loco since you have a large collection. Thanks Guus, nice site, i believe that the f7s and their cousins, the nohabs are the foundation stone(s) of MRR. |

And then you're not married. Ya know - 40 cents of a dollar ... [}:)] Hello John and Nev Well the army service here is quite different from many other countries. To be more specific: According to our constitution all male citizens are obligated to serve a military service. Now we all have to serve for 1 year as privates or as corporals and maybe as sergeants. As a physicist it is very possible to be able to serve as second lieutenant, but the my military service will be for 5 months more. Privates, corporals and sergeants do not get paid, lieutenants have an income. The reason that we have to go to the army is that we face a constant threat from the east, something that was also mentioned by a report of European Union recently as well. When i was young i wanted to serve as a navy officer but some unfortunate conditions at that time did not allow me to do that when i was 18 years old, so i entered to the university. To conclude i would like to say that i see the army as an adventure . Nev i do not that. |

"Unfortunately" i am forced to have in the army a more responsible place, although i would like very much to be at entrace of the camp as a MP reading my favorite MRR magazine, or riding with the car during summer in islands [:I]. But life has shown me always the hard way, which in the long run has been more useful... |

You gonna have a good time Nikos. One year is nothing.Just an experience.I joined the army before 18 years, for 21 months.I do not have bad memories. The first time i saw a marklin train was by a captain in his office in KEVOP.He had if i remember well three or four cars every time and three pieces of track. When i asked him for the trains because i was impressed very much he told me that was train collector.Very unusual for an officer i think.

I met an officer from the USS BonHommeRichard on R&R in Brisbane a few years ago, after duty in the Iraq theatre. He appreciated the "small talk" on MRR. His cabin had a few MRR magazines, which he said gave him psychological relief from the intensity of his on-duty responsibilities. He did not have any kits or models with him, and I did not ask why.
