Thank you Steven, when i will get them i will post many images.
Thanks Palle, i guess that makes three of us
.
I am definately "investing" (i do not know if i can use that term for MRR) upon the old items. I believe the 3349 has the "made in Western Germany" insignia.
It is my first ebay venture though...

- Palle and Panayoti (now I've got 17 of them ...)
Never before (and never again, presumably) a MRR company made an F7 the way M did til recently.
And no other make even came close to M's sturdy, classic masterpieces of F7s [:p][:p][:p]

Thanks Luis, now i must decide which of the many available US wagons match with my loco
[}:)].
Nev you must get one too, it is a 1992 model, the loco and the box where intact, but it needs oil and maybe brushes.
John the next f7 is the 3349. I guess i am the only one that will have( i hope) that f7 here.
Thanks Panayioti

I just received the 3349 from ebay, the loco's box was almost destroyed[xx(], the seller put some newspapers[:(!], the item was supposed to be new but. The upper horns were broken or detached [:(!][xx(].
To be honest i really do not care now, since i only wanted the body of that loco an her motors, i plan to upgrade her.
The plastic that houses the loco is crashed but the loco is intact(except of the horns). My first ebay venture was quite traumatic, but always look on the bright side of life, this loco has a bright future

Nikos,
I am Sorry for you. It is a Dissapointment when something is packed wrong and gets broken.
Report him as the goods were not as advertised. If you paid by PAYPAL you can get a partial refund. or full refund . goods were also damaged due to faulty packing.

Nev,
I still want the loco, the f7 is now battle proven indestructible.
I believe now that the seller must have more than 1000 transactions so as to be somewhat trusted and a perfect feedback.
I still have not regreted buying that loco, but i was somewhat lucky to get this solid item... Imagine having bought a plastic loco with many details...
Images will be posted after her resurrection.

Alonso - Make certain if the facts were misrepresented that you write a scathing review or ask the person for your money back. If someone sells frequently on eBay you have considerable leverage with your review. Don't be a nice guy about it and look on the brighter side because chances are you got screwed and others will in the future. That is, unless you are truly satisfied.

I did not use paypal, Larry i do not try to be a nice guy, just want to have what i planed to have.
Another person would not be satisfied.
I just wanted only the body and the motors.
The horn will be glued.
I also plan to install two upgrade kits to her.
I also did not buy it myself, a friend did it for me and does not want to leave negative feedback, cause he will get a negative feedback himself.

I agree with Larry - give an accurate feedback for your transaction, even if negative. Too many sellers get hopping mad ugly and irate if you rightfully give them a negative or evan a nuetral feedback. I you case, Alonse, a negative would be warranted.
I bought a branchline kit for an REA express reefer today. It will fit in with my PRR GG-1 passenger train.

from the seller if he gonna pay the set.BTW i bought 8 locos on ebay
and i did not have a problem with them.Maybe a large box like yours
it is more possible to be damaged.I feel sorry for you.

I can understand your plight if your friend does not want to give negative feedback.
My impression of eBay, right or wrong, is that it has grown into a highly evolved market. From my experience the only ones that seem to benefit from eBay are the sellers and highly sophisticated buyers. The sophistication required to be successful on eBay sell side for many items (meaning getting something below market price of good quality) is extraordinary. I'd compare this market with all the tools used to be almost as sophisticated as the futures market or other complex and highly evolved markets. You almost have to be a professional eBay'er to do this right on the buy side.
While I do not own or operate any commercial concern related to the buying and selling of anything, I'd stick to your own local Maerklin dealer or reputable national/international organizations that sells Maerklin. Even there you can get screwed, let along buying on eBay.

An update:
I gave my loco to another friend of mine who is an expert at servicing, upgrading etc, the loco is new, the crashed plastic inside could also have happened because of polymerization after long term exposure at sunlight at a vitrine (just a speculation).
The way the horns were detached make me believe that damage did not happen during transpotation.
The loco works fine, it was a traumatic experience after all...
I will buy again from ebay though...

Since this seems to be a good US proto discussion, I have a question as to the running direction of the 3060/4063/4060 and the 3362. I don't have a picture for illustration but most of you would know this I'm sure. I was placing my triple units on display and it occurred to me to see which way was appropriate for the lead loc. On the various euro locomotives the slider end leads for best contact. The US triple units have the slider mounted near one end of the "B" unit such as the 3362 and 3349. Doing this makes the "B" unit Warbonnet signet lead with the wing instead of the head. The 3060 has to lead on the red Santa Fe set because of the way the hook and couplers are on the three individual pieces and in doing so the "B" unit there too will go with the wing leading the way. I looked at various proto pics and I think that Marklin got the orientation of the "B" units signet wrong. I know the three individual pieces can be attached to each other with the enclosed drawbars and then the orientation could be corrected but that won't work on the 3362 with the slider leading as appropriate. Any comments?
