This is really difficult as I simply like all of my loco's, but some of the major favs are:
RC1/2/3/4 - 3043/26726/37413/37414/37415/37416 x2 (got the 3043 from my father when I learned to swim and still have it and is the pride of my collection!)
BR 103 (E 03) - 37571/37573/39572/39573/39579
BR 120 - 37485/37530/37535 (Mickey Mouse)/37538/37539/37542
BR 53 - 37023/37024 (Military Painting)
Rapid - Ra-B170 from JECO
The list could go on and on and on but as it was asked for only 5, I think this would be it.

My top 5 favorite loks are as follows:
1) 3434, 34341, 34344, 34345, 3734, 37341, 37343, 37344, 37345, 37346.1, 37356, 26534, 29859.2, 37320.2 Re 4/4II
2) 37320.1, 37321, 37322, 37323.1 Re 6/6
3) 29850.1, 37366, 39361, 37360 Ae 6/6 (Ae 610)
4) 26730 Be6/8III
5) 26557 Re 4/4I TEE
Re 4/4II (Re 421) is the best model. It has the traditional Maerklin ruggedness while having some up to date design features. I think it is the best model reproduction of this locomotive class
Re 6/6 a new entry into the Swiss model collection. A close second
Ae 6/6 if it wasn't for the tinted windows and the painted strut on the windows, this model would have finished higher. Still it is a nice model and holds it's own.
Be6/6III is the classic Crocodile
Re 4/4I TEE is a nice model. I have two, one which I converted to dual Swiss pantographs to pull my Roco Rheingold consist. Very nice!

I can list 200 locos but reducing it to 5 is not so easy.
I can give you one Roco loco: BLS Ae 6/8, Austrian Crocodile (Rh 1089), BLS Re 8/8, SBB Ae 8/14, SJ DM3, SJ IORE 100 >>>, as prototype and model,
John

This was quite a hard question.
Here my favorites are:
1. 37994 UP Big Boy. This simply is one of the most beatiful loco I´ve ever seen. The detailing is nice and all the sound functions. Amazing!
2. 26490 Alco PA-1 Blue Bird. The model is really nice and it´s the best paint scheme on this model I´ve seen by Märklin.
3. 37941 T44 SJ. This model has been on my wishlist from Märklin since I saw it IRL. It has SDS, partly metal housing. It only misses a sound decoder from the factory and it would propably be 2nd on my list.
4. 39412 BR 141. My new favourite. Cool sounds and I like the SDS very much.
5. 37493 GG-1. Really nice loco. It´s odd design appealed to me and I also want it together with the metallic 37491 that I have.
There are alot of other models that I´d like to have in the list. It should be a top 100-list.
37624 F7, my first review
My layout in construction.
/David

To make it more simple for me, I put five locos on rank 1.
1. Märklin 39302 ML 2200 C'C' (blue livery)
1. Märklin 37993 UP 4000 class (a.k.a. Big Boy)
1. Märklin 39123 E 10 1269 (TEE livery)
1. Märklin 39050 05 003
1. Märklin 37915 03 1001
The list is subject to change multiple times per day without further notice ...
Regards
Tom

Well,
Since I have only five locomotives so far I'd have to say all five are my favorites.
BR 64
P8
BR 03
AE 3/6
S 3/6
I have several on my 'want' list. I have two more on order and after I get them I'll have to decide which
five I like the best. This is like having to decide which of your kids you love best. I love them all.
