Gators and Crocs....
The ELITE of the Marklin world.

River, as usual, excellent video. You've got an amazing depth and amount of rolling stock. You might have the best Marklin layout in the entire area Ocenaia. Might. Certainly the most fun looking.

I shouldn't ask, so I won't....What's the Marklin budget per year?

My 'House Appropriations Committee' (wife) won't let me spend beyond a very small amount. Good thing I got my Croc back in 1976.

Paul

Thanks, John, and for your review of the double gator set. Mine runs very smoothly. On our trip from Frankfurt to Nurnberg I spotted a blue Gator on a siding. Then low and behold here was my green Gator in the shop window. Must have been a sign.

Cheers,

Mike

Paul,

My budget is very small per annum, maybe A$ 3000.00 but this includes the overhead system, decoders and spareparts.

Coolness, Ray - you definitely are our expert when it comes to
Spanish Gators (and then much more, of course!) ThumpUpThumpUpThumpUp

And with 27,5cm the beast beats our "ordinary" E94 when it comes to sheer length.
Wonder if the ELECTROTREN is as heavy (and sturdy) as the MARKLIN stuff ...
I hope no one visits a poor Southener's layout in Brooklyn. Intruders beware of Gators.

BTW, Nikos

M's classic OBB Gators #3052 & #39222 wear the correct, dark tannengrün color.
The year 2011 OBB Gator #37227 "tannengrün" is too light. Guess M's new staff never saw them ... Tongue

Right, Nikos - the missing whistle on her had puzzled me too, then. Imagine you do a series of technically identical premium locos (in this case #39221, 39222, 39223) - but on the middle one you save a few pennies by omitting the sound module (a simple PCB with speaker soldered on, ready to insert) - now what ?! BlinkRollEyes

We will never know but my only viable explanation is - a ten years back M had thought Austrian collectors over there never cared for such item. Since both German liveries have that whistle (a good one, BTW - with strong clear sound).

If you wanna look for it at ebay I can give you a little help - it's the upper PCB just left of the green arrow. But alas, it got no own part number ...

Great collection of crocs! The photos are a bit too big. Can you make them a bit smaller so we can see the whole loco?

Great KroksThumpUp ThumpUp

Curious (and envious!!) about the Snow Weathered ones - how come the different road numbers - 13302 and 14310?

Thanks,

Jeremy.

Hi !

the 39569 is the snow one from 39560 - 14310

and the 3359 the snow one from 3356 - 13303, i think thats why they have same number.

regards
Mike

I just won my first German croc on ebay last night.

It is the Roco 69773 (era3a livery)

UserPostedImage

I was interested in getting the Marklin version (37225-1) however they shipped it with the wrong Pantos and they are expensive to buy as a part.

Hi Eric,

Great looking Loco. ThumpUp

I still don't have a Krok in my collection, I had heard they like banana's. Smile
