"Talent 2" is a BR 442 EMU, a Bomardier railcar ordered by the DB for several regional and S-Bahn networks. Piko released an excellent model in 2010, which I bought last February at "Gleis 11" in Munich, for 165 €. It's a nicely detailed, nicely running model for a nice price.

The design of BR 442 has been controversially discussed by railfans. Personally, I don't find this train looks so bad. For me, however, the Märklin model would only be of interest, if they release the Nurmeberg S-Bahn version of this railcar, which Piko didn't release yet.

On the other hand, I hope the rumor of this set of six NMBS / SNCB tin-plate cars will become true.

Regards,
Florian

It was, of course, not my intention to violate forum rules with oversized pictures. Blushing My intention was to show the BR 442 EMU to those forum members who didn't know this railcar (and this already existing 1:87 reproduction) yet. I just didn't look closely enough to these rules, but the size of my next pictures will meet the forum requirement.

When will Märklin decide to perform a new retooling in metal of the SJ Rc locomotives? It's long overdue! The current plastic one looks cheap and jurassic in detailThumbDown

If by catalog you mean the 2011/2012 Marklin Yearbook, then most of us already have those. The Yearbook is a summary of what happened during the year.

The New Items catalog for 2012 shows the new items to be released for the coming 2012 year, and has not yet been released by Marklin, so I very much doubt that your dealer (or any other dealer) has those.

Just would like to see the livery on that Re 460 37462 (and the price Confused ) Am I wrong or there are not that many "advertisement" 460s around these days? I Got a few of them and don't know if they are "actual" or not. Most of the times when I was in Switzerland I saw the standard red livery.

My information seems to suggest that the 37462 will be a red SBB lok without the 2000 markings on the front. I have not heard any details about road number or lok name. It makes sense for Maerklin to release a lok to go with the 2011 42164 Set. The lok already appears on the Maerklin Parts List without much in the way of details.

Regards

Hopefully it will have the full light functions of the 37461 BLS Re 465. The number seems to indicate so. I also wonder how difficult it would be to retrofit older Re 460s with this.

EDIT: Mike, you are right. You can download the manual and it shows a red loco without the 2000 markings. I think that it will be on-order for me in 2012.

Here's some info about the 37462 Re 460 054 "Dreiländereck": http://medienpdb.maerkli.../1/pdf/37462_betrieb.pdf

(PC Right Click, on link, select "Open In New Tab" or "Open In New Window". Macbook Two Fingers on Trackpad, Click, or Right Click (Mouse), Select "Open In New Tab" or "Open In New Window")

Any junior detectives can scan through the list to see if they find any unannounced goodies:

Rc locomotivs has one soundfunction while the second is hidden function which you must have an CS2 to get it.
There has been never fully functions at Rc locomotivs!

Now to wait whether Marklin confirms that the list is true...

The TGV startpackungs are interesting... unsure whether the ICN one will remain,
there are still a host of models with large DCM housing and resulting motor noises & heavy maintenance,
there are also a few 39xxx, unsure whether the SDS are still going to be around.

Now collecting C-Sine models.

A 37994 UP Big Boy...........

I wonder what will be different for this model from all the other Big Boy models, apart from road number.

No suggestion in that list of any new blue box retro items such as 30470 or 30480.

Three Rc-locomotives in the same year, is that realistically possible Confused

Looks like new tooling Br 212.

As predicted, there are some new tooling Br50s as well. ThumpUp

37370 Br101 Era 6 is interesting, even if only because the item number is a retrograde number - 37371 Br101 came out in around 1999, 37374 in 2000, 37398 in 2005, all Br101's (as were most of the in-between numbers).

Makes me wonder whether this list is a hoax. If so, there would be heaps of new tooling (tools) around - us!

Of course it is. Just remember one year back when they tried to fool their members with that Kansas City Southern F7 Tongue

If it is a hoax someone's gone to a lot of trouble for nothing!

I guess we'll have to wait and see.

...and yes, David, I did mean the HO Br212. They promised a new Br212 with central can motor two years ago and AFAIK it never appeared as a Marklin model, though I think a Trix one did materialise, but I could be wrong.
