Florian,

I'm with you on the Rheingold set. Do you think the conversion would be straightforward? Would you try and change one of the wheelsets or just install the slider?

I think I prefer the BB without the smoke deflectors, but this model seems to be subtly different from the others so I might consider it.

I have found one other photo of a model with the smoke lifters.

This site mentions the 4019 did indeed have smoke deflectors, but only 'for a few runs' which would explain the lack of photographs.

The Trix loco comes with wheel contacts on both bogies. These wheel contacts sit on plastic brackets, which are snapped onto the bogie frame. The same plastic brackets are also used for the AC pickup shoes. You have to remove the wheel contacts from one bogie, and install the pickup shoe instad. The remaining wheel contacts on the other bogie are connected to ground, so you don't have to replace the (electrically insulated) DC wheelsets. Finally, you have to adapt the gauge to Märklin standart. Otherweise, you can order the Märklin AC wheelsets; the prices for these wheelsets, but these wheelsets are (too) expensive. Finally, you have to install a decoder with a 21 mtc socket.

Hi,
It looks like only the 25691 set has soft drive sine motor and symbol, but there are some 39 models in the catalog and they show a high efficiency symbol for the motor. Will this mean that 39 models will not come with a sine motor any more?

Regards
Eduardo

Sadly, the 39- won't, as the 39017 BR01 had shown earlier.
So these will have the same price, greater profit for Marklin, and less value for customers.
Now collecting C-Sine models.

I am amazed at the number of items proposed.
It indicates a highly organised design and manufacturing facility.

I don't know.
2000 crocs coming with SDS this year will be the last crocs with SDS, all 39xxx models of the Spring new items come without SDS.
So the 2012 Swiss croc could be the last SDS model ever - but this was not announced (yet).

And the 18.4 came back after the farewell edition, so even if there were announcements you couldn't be sure.

If there is demand for special, limited SDS editions then I presume Märklin will make them. Maybe with a nice certificate and a nice display case ...
Regards
Tom

I'm using C tracks, but you should adjust the gauge for both track systems. Otherweise, the flanges will collide with the frog, which will always cause a rumbling noise when the loco is running over a turnout. In the worst case, the loco will derail. About one year ago, I converted a Trix BR 141 to AC. Before adjusting the gauge, this loco always rumbled on turnouts.

Florian

Yes!!!

Yesterday evening I ordered alot of items from Walthers. I set up a virtual card through my bank (I hope it will work). How long will it take for them to proceed with the transaction? Among them were 2 Hulett Unloaders, Blower engine house, a coal company and some cattle fence.
When I heard the Big Boy was going to arrive in Februar already I tried to adjust my budget so I could do a new payment plan (pay the rest of the sum to the bank for the 26490 Wabash).

This afternoon I found out I got some wages for my performances at Ystad tattoo and other performances and also payments for travelling from the national guard. I didn´t count on this as I get the money very random. Guess what the sum I got?? 860 Euros!! And what does the Big Boy cost??? 800 Euros!!!

And thanks to finishing the payment plan earlier I won´t pay for that and yesterday I negotiated with my phone company to have an even better account!

That said my buying plan this year totally change.

BigGrin

The only problem is that everything will be tested and then going back to their boxes as I don´t have any real layout... Crying
Does anyone have any good tips for a layout that´s 300*120 or maximum 300*130 which could be constructed as a a part of a bigger future layout? With some of the buildings?

Now I´m gonna take a shower and then I´m gonna get my 45644 and the part 120818 fro my rescue train set from the post office!!

For 43541 Commuter Car Set. M2 A5B5, M2 B11, M2 B8DS, SNCB/NMBS.

Does anyone know which lok they are referring to?

The class 25 electric locomotive is the right motive power for these cars and is available in the Märklin H0 assortment under item no. 37230.

I cannot find Marklin 37230 anywhere.

Hey all!!

I was "surfing the web" tonight and came upon this:

http://www.modellbahnshop-lippe...-0-0-0-gb-t-0/index.html

Does this mean the minimum advertised discount of 10% is no longer valid?? It is about a 22% discount on the 37986 and a 27% discount on the 37160 ...

I have never bought from "across the pond" ... can someone tell me if they remove VAT when selling to the US??

Robert

Even the Bluebird was sold with 20 % discount.
Many dealers do not advertise discounts on MHI items - but this set is not MHI.
Discounts could be lower if dealers expect to be able to sell it at a higher price because of its limitation.

They write: "Shipping cost to non EU countries on request."
So ask them two questions ...

This is a very professional dealer, I presume they will remove VAT.

Robert,

Here is a price guide kept by our friends at stummi.de

http://www.stummi.de/spur0e.htm?2012

Note that Lippe uses DHL. Typically for an item insured to 500 Euros the cost might range around 35 Euros. The next insurance level may be around 2500 Euros and this can range around 50 Euros to the US. There are also kilo limits. Generally it is better to buy more and combine the shipping.BigGrin

Does anyone know which lok they are referring to?

The class 25 electric locomotive is the right motive power for these cars and is available in the Märklin H0 assortment under item no. 37230.

I cannot find Marklin 37230 anywhere.

There will follow a 2012 EXPORT-brochure Wink !!!

Yes, thankfully Märklin realized that it was not in their interest (and not legal) to try and control the price-level. It does indeed look as if we can calculate with 20 to 25% discount on most items. That's good for Märklin (they will sell more) and good for us (we can buy more). For some smaller dealers it will probably not be so good though...
I saw somewhere that the new Märklin MD said that we, the end-users, are the important ones for Märklin. Maybe an indication that Märklin has changed focus from dealers to consumers?
