I will be updating my progress with the S-Bahn railcar later to night.
1.)
Digital conversion
The digital conversion consists of a 60903 conversion set.
A ball bearing will be fitted into the brush plate
2.) Interior lights
Led's will be used for the interior lights and as mentioned before the head & taillights have already been provided with led's.
I will have a led's going through the middle of the carriage as per picture
3.) Roco 4 pin electrical coupling
I was slightly annoyed not being able to separate the carriages from each other (permanent coupling, so this gave me an opportunity to install Roco 4 pi9n electrical couplings,
The 4 pins are ideal for the purpose
1.) blue wire: neutral
2.) white wire: front or rear lights
3.) yellow wire: front or rear lights
4.) Aux 1: green wire: interior lights
the fixed coupling was removed and than I had to come up with an idea how to fix the Roco coupling.
My first attempt was by adding a small double brass plate and fixed it to the current screw hole.
The motorcar, this was a different story as there is no room to extend the coupling.
I had to cut off the clip from the Roco coupling, cut off the loophole of the shaft coupling.
To make sure the loophole from shaft is firmly fixed to the Roco coupling I added again a brass plate, drilled a hole the size of the loophole and than super glued the brass plate onto the loop hole and the Roco coupling.
I was pleased with the end result, looks like it is permanently glued on.
I've retained roughly the same distance between the carriages.
The only thing I've altered on the carriage is the bottom cross bar holding the original coupling bar.
the coupling moves freely from side to side so sharp curves should not be a problem.
When its all finished (more photos) will follow
regards.,
John
