Hello all, I've been an analog diehard for 25 years. just bought a starter set on ebay with two locos and the 6021 controller. Thought it would be a no-brainer getting things to work but without any instructions I am not able to control both locos. Can someone point me to a site where I could download instructions on the 6021 or if someone could email a scan of their instruction booklet to me? Thanks, B-man Edited by moderator 04 July 2016 03:18:37(UTC)

Keep in mind that that pdf is not such a great scan. I guess I should rescan it sometime!

Brave-man,
It is essential for you to look at the instruction booklet first.
There are 2 wires connected to the 6020 unit and the track and 2 wires connected to the unit 6021 and the transformer.
Unit 6021 = track
red wire = middle contact brown wire = track connection
Unit 6021 - transformer
brown wire
yellow wire
Do not connect wires the wrong way around as this will damage your 6021 unit.
When swichting on power you should have a red light coming on the 6021 unit and flashing numbers on your digital display.
When everything is ready, you have to know the loco number (1-80)and key in the required number red turn knob and off you go. If you have a loco with extra functions there are 4 buttons (AUX 1, AUX 2 AUX 3 and AUX 4) and AUX 4 mainly dedicated to Acceleration-braking delay (on-off) for steam locos AUX 1 is for smoke generator.
To make sure your 6021 unit is working just connect the yellow and brown wire to the transformer and see if the light comes on.

Märklin provides the manual. But as always, you have to copy the URL to the address field of your browser: "6021_betrieb" is the manual, "6021_tech" is a leaflet with information about centre rail rockers. Edit: Sorry, but first file is German only. Edited by user 26 February 2011 20:55:00(UTC)

Smaller files - and no RapidShare delay ... Trouble is, they are the German only version. The Rapidshare delay is better than having to pay for the service, which would you rather have? If you don't like the delay, then pay for the service!

Adobe Reader free of change - Download 6021 time 46 Seconds. (17 seconds fastest that Rapidshare). Forget Rapidshare. |

You guys are great! I've got the downloads and will study them and give it another go. Looking forward to running my digital equipped locos on a digital system.
Thanks,

Saw the table of contents showing four languages, but didn't check if the English version was included. They make almost anything in four languages - but too much on their website is German only. Well, it's better with the manuals for CS2 and MS2. Re Rapidshare I waited 42 seconds just to find it's not compatible with my download manager. Then I had to wait again to try without download manager. It would be better if the download was available from Märklin. I cannot recommend a better free filehoster. |

OK. I am up and running in digital.
The starter set I have included two locos. One runs fine under control and functions work well. My old Mikado is like getting a new loco now that I can turn on all of the exciting noise! The diesel loco from the set runs out of control as soon as it is activated and f4 is active. With f4 OFF the loco is dead where she sits. Since I don't have any manuals with this set could one of you give me a clue as to how I can adjust the acceleration rate and top speed of my out of control diesel. When I say out of control I mean it runs at full speed with the speed controller moved only slightly.
The best part of this digital thing is that my wife now finds it interesting. The Mikado making "cute" noises has her wanting more.
Cheers,
B-man

Hi Greg. The files were deleted from Rapidshare because certain people were downloading them, burning them to DVD, and then onselling the DVD's to make a profit. You can read about the sorry saga in the Catalogs Scans thread. An alternate hosting site is being looked at, but if you want the 6021 manual, send me your email address, and I can send it to you - it is about 25mb in size.

I would say that most locos are probably programmed with dip-switches and are mostly 6080-6090 decoder types. There is a downloadable program (for Win) on this site: https://www.marklin-users.net/downloads/switch.zip If you open a loco and it has have a bank of 8 dip-switches, you can cycle through the addresses in the program until you get a visual match. That will be the address of the particular loco to be entered on the 6021. If the loco has a bank of 4 dip-switches, or 4 solder bridges, then it is a "Delta" loco - usually seen on the box too. Then you can see the different addresses here: https://www.marklin-user...digital/dideltaaddr.html |

I think I have previously attached the English 6021 manual in another thread, but it won't hurt to post it here. This version is actually a rescan of the full manual - all languages,
