Sorry John, I can't spel. How about Uli Schweickardt (aka ETS).
I got my Rio Grande last Fri (9/22) but haven't had a chance to put him on the track. Been messing with bike tires and new ovens.
I sure wish Mother M would offer some cars for the 37612, I like you have all the PA-1's so far, and there just isn't enough passenger cars. How about some Pennys' or NYC passenger cars.
By the way, the PCM cars and engines don't hold a candle to what marklin does. I am surprised that Kato doesn't come out with something. Kato has a Business car that looks great.

Not the slightest trace of use (had them in our lab for proof) - virtually untouched

Wow, what an outstanding occassion!
As it is from 1977, it is still analogic with an SFCM motor, I suppose. Had this motor in my UP F7 before conversion to digital. Now this lok is running absolutely smooth and silent.
There's only one thing I regret: that very specific sound of a whining SFCM has gone [:(]

Fair right, Hans Martin - she got the little SFCM. And since she never left her box in those 30 years of her life she was verharzt, heavily, by factory oil still. But not the slightest grain of coal residue inside her motor, nor any traces of wear and tear on her wheels or the schleifer. Also all of her motor parts are shining brightly - a true virgin [^]
Now after her very first tune-up, plus a little break-in she's running reasonably nice.
That whining sound is there, of course - and so is our beloved Eau d' Marklin

Very nice John, congrats!! Got my D&RGW F7 set last week from a US collector - makes me think that the postal services must be making a bundle on all this trans-atlantic shipping
Mine was in great condition as well but not brand new - did come with a decoder though. I know some think this is sacriledge [V] but if i'm to run it it's a must...
PS: John, does your set also have 'fuzzy' edges where the black meets the yellow on the roof? And the same road number on both A-units?

1) YES 2) YES - those were the times, then ... But on the bonus side M's heavy metal F7s are the sturdiest models ever made - beats falling-off plastic parts 40 miles by sunday

- hunting down F7s also won't make a guy rich ... [xx(]
Well, got the famous #3781 TEXAS EAGLE
double header for my small collection of F7s, today.
Released in 1995, still brand new in the box. And never run by her previous owner/collector
