Not sure if anyone has experience of this site, now with a UK portal, with extensive lists of a range of useful items and AC locos..

Prices seem keen, moreover they seem to stock a range of just about all you would need...

I have just taken delivery of some Auhagen Platforms, and crucially for one who cant justify the cots of new signals , I am going to try some brass semaphore DB kits.

I am going to read up and report back...But for some spots on the line hand worked but lit semaphores will do fine...Especially as they are much better than the old M ones.

Delivery has been prompt, and the auhagen platform kits look very good and adaptable.

Well I am off to the magnifier light now...

Ralph,

it seems great minds think alike. BigGrin

I was just in a Conrad retail store a few days ago. A few things I learned. The german website (www.conrad.de) seems to be more extensive than say the UK site. They also have a business catalog, which is two very large very heavy books full of all kinds of stuff. This has it's own website at www.conrad.biz This is really useful for some of the tools that modelers may find handy. There is stuff here not listed in the regular catalog.

They also have a Conrad Electronic catalog. The store was filled with all kinds of electronic parts. In addition they have 300+ page Conrad Modellbahn 2010/2011 catalog available in the stores, and for purchase. My copy was free because I purchased some items.

As for the light signal kits. I purchased three of them. All of them were less than €9,00 apiece.

They have a lot of do it yourself stuff, including their own branded S88 kit. I wonder how that would work with Marklin.

Regards,

Thomas

Yep.. They have different stuff too.. I picked up a Lilliput AC digital Audi loco... For some reason they only accept bank transfer (no credit cards or PayPal) from Australia (and a couple of other countries too), so I won't be shopping there again, but I am happy with the loco..

The benefit for me is a full, range aimed at the UK market and a website that positively promotes Marklin, and has a good range of the little bits and bats that you find you need, and to add to it the delivery box is a very hand bit of plastic storage.

Not all the loco prices are keen, but I can't easily find most of the accessories , and when I go to mainland Europe I tend to but locos not small bits..

Hi,
I only buy electrononic components at Conrad, because I found that, for Marklin, Viessmann, noch..., they were more expensive than Lokshop.

Thanks for the tips about the German Conrad having more than the UK. I will go and have a look. The only time I felt that they were selling some inferior items was a computer sound system. Either I have a bass there is no stereo and it I want stereo, I have to have no bass. I wrote a stinking review about the item.

Chris.
