I notice that whats seems to be a big web shop from Germany is now running a UK site Conrad.de .

Its got a good range of HO stuff including AC and quite a bit of Marklin at not too horrific prices when you take of the high costs of packaging and post.

I imagine its all direct from Gemany.

Anyone tried them ?

Yes, I bought some Z scale Viessmann semaphore signal masts from them. I found teh site easy to use and shipping was prompt. I've been recommending them on this (I think) and other forums.

You need to go to http://conrad-uk.com/ , select [Hobbies], "Model railway" as the link you left returns an error.

Chris.

I bought turnout motors from them (for K track, instead of that horrible bleow baseboard mechanism supplied by Marklin). It's many years I use them and I'm still satisfied!

I've used them too. I've found them to be helpful and efficient - although a few of their items are provided with German instructions.

I've bought some Viessmann colour signal kits (much cheaper than the buying the finished article!) and the price of their Marklin items isn't too bad - and if you're really luck you could find a bargain. The Z scale 88021 track cleaning loco is £77 (and free postage!) but Gaugemaster are selling it for £135! It's a pity I'm all out of budget :-(
