Very nice, Dale!

These are later versions with the ocean blue logo and lower strip, which I've never seen before, by the way!

If you look through catalogues you can see that the correct driving coach for these is not so much the 4081, which was discontinued 8 years before these coaches, but the 4077 which replaced the 4081 from 1972 to 1980. They will probably be easier to find too!

Here's one with the blue logo.

Other 4077 also have the black logo, so watch out if you want them to match!

This is a lovely set. I've wanted these coaches since they first appeared years ago as a set for the Bavarian Glaskasten.

I decided this year to go for the 26559 set, which includes a couple of these coaches and a Glaskaten in early Era III colours.

Depends on the meaning of "matching" in this context.

The TEE Bavaria replaced the Swiss RAm trains (1 had an accident, the remaining trains were sold to Canada to become "Northlanders"). It was a short train with three coaches only (normally).
Diesel engines where used in Germany (no catenary). Märklin recommends the BR 210 model (which has an interesting sound).

43855 matches era-wise and livery-wise and can be used to build a longer train. Destination boards do not match ...

I run trains on my layout where destination boards do not match - but this is no train for those who want strictly prototypical trains.

Yup,
Prototypically, 43855 is used on the TEE Rheinpfeil,
but it's a nice edition to any TEE trains - as this one is the only M* TEE coach at the moment with factory installed marker lights.

I meant that it does match colour wise. I know the 43855 has been issued in 2007 as an addition to the Rheinpfeil Cool Set. As TimR put it, I got it only because it is the only one with marker lights already installed at the factory. However, it does look nice even with the destination boards not matching.
Today I have installed about 10-12 passengers from Preiser in the 43855. These little people sure do add a bit of life to an otherwise deserted train. ThumpUp Cool

I've bought a few new sets just recently.

First up is the Mercury F-train set to go behind my BR03.10 F-train express. Marklin 43290.

UserPostedImage

Second is the 4 car Pike set (hechtwagen) by Trix, items 23383/4/5/6 - same as Marklin 42230/50/51/60 but in era3a livery which I will pull with my E04:

UserPostedImage

Lastly, I've managed to procure the older triaxial rebuild cars 43172/82/92 in era3a livery.

They will go nicely with my BR38 I think.

No, I did not. Normally, FLeischmann DC wheelsets run without any problems on K and C tracks. Probably I will change the wheels of the control car (for a better contact) when it will be converted to AC.

I picked up a nice 4027, lurking in a vendor's collection at a local train show. The roof needed a bit of cleaning but with the exception of a small blemish it looks great. This is my only tin plate Marklin coach. It joins two DRG coaches (43211,43241)and two PKP (Polish)coaches made by Tillig. The latter are pulled by my grey BR 52, similar to the ones used in Poland until around 1990. I spent some time on these type of coaches while travelling in Poland. As well I have one of the good old Prussian coach sets made by Marklin.
Why do grown men play with trains?
Their wives insist they are insane
But their dreams they won't let down the drain
'Cause there ain't no thing so hard to lose as those disappearing railway blues.

Hi All,

Got myself a 4335 branch line passenger car 2nd class, and a 43351 branch line passenger car 1st and 2nd class. Nothing really to shout about, but it adds to my small collection of coaches.

Cheers,
Ranjit

Are those the red ones? I like those coaches, and I want to get a rake of those in the future. Marklin made them in red and in green. A train made up of these coaches in both colours would look good!

One green coach at end came with pick-up shoe with marked red light.

Great looking coaches Steven. ThumpUp

Are they fitted with interior lighting? I guess they are ready for current conducting couplers?

Yes, Ray, they are the red ones. They are small, and they look lovely. They are also quite inexpensive. I got them from LokShop for about Euro 20 each.

Do you want me to post some pictures?

Cheers,
Ranjit
