I had 15, but reduced it to 9. If you are not using a locomotive for a long time, the oil will get thick. This cost me 2 times a repair from about 65 Euro. Because I am alone, I can’t control more then 4 locomotives at a time. And 9 locomotives is enough for what I need. |

I've got 19 H0 digital (or Delta) locos and 1 Gauge1 loco (55003) All locos running at least twice a year. Which is quite a lot because I'm only collecting at the moment. |

Too Damn many! It's near 70, about 55-60 of which are SBB. All are digital or converted to it an all Marklin except a few HAG's and a Roco C 5/6 Steamer. I run almost all of them except a few serious collector pieces. (and the C 5/6, which runs like S%*t) |

I have just over 200, and am actively thinning my collection. I'd like to be down to 150 in another year. I have too many loks for the amount of rolling stock I possess, and I'm also limited by the amount of digital addresses available. |

I have 7 locomotives (3 steam, 3 diesel and 1 electric) with digital control. They are in good or very good condition. I have also 4 older locomotives, which are not so good condition or not yet digitized. All locomotives are Märklin products bought from about 1960 to 2004.

For the moment 31 : 15 Diesel (12 Märklin and 3 Roco); 6 steam; 9 electrics (8 Märklin and 1 Roco), all digitalized by myself, and 1 very old steam loc (HR 800). Most of them (22) bought at public sales (cheaper than eBay ). |

I was not bragging but was asked. I know many people who have more loks than I do. I could name them, but many don't want the general public to know the extent of their disease!!! If they want people to know, they will reply as I did. Re: Thinning my collection: I've pretty much decided to concentrate on ERA II, hence selling some of my favorite Loks and rolling stock. The problem is that I still enjoy it all, and still tend to buy what I like. There is always something very neat that is out of era for me . |

Actually, it doesn't relaly matter how many. I have many really nice loks packed away that will not see the light of day anytime soon. I also have 8 or 10 sitting in my engine yard that rarely come out to play. If I were a collector, more would certainly be better, but as an operator, I would probably be just as happy with two or three really nice loks on my layout. Having said that, I am bidding on another on eBay today. I guess an addiction (as my wife calls it) doesn't have to make sense. |
