<br />Yes, Alonso, I agree but you can live anywhere outside of Germany and Europe and you find there are relatively few Maerklin enthusiasts in any geographical area. Before this forum, my only source of information aside from ETE periodicals were dealers, which is fine, but the forum allows us orphans to connect with others. This vehicle is the best there is for getting help and for keeping up the enthusiasm for all things Maerklin. Thanks, Juhan, so much for your efforts here.

The one and only thing that i like with the dealers Larry, is that they have much M stuff.

Hello All,

I am back home again after a very nice weekend. The most of all I enjoyed seeing some of the forum members.
Apart from that, the Treff was interesting, for my pictures you have to waite a while because I am still making photos the old way.

I also think one day is enough for seeing everything, you only need some extra time in case you want to take a trip with one of the trainrides, what I did on sunday (the ride with the BR 58 over the Geislinger Steige, if only they had cleaned the coach windows)

Pål, I hope you are well again, sorry to have missed you, because it sure was fun to meet people from all over the world.

Greetings, Tony.

Thanks for the info gentlemen! I was hoping to make it over to the next Treff and it's good to see and read the reports about the families that were in attendance. Reading all this makes me think my 7 year old son would enjoy this event greatly! Thanks again!! SmileSmile

Maybe this isn't the correct place for adds, but one of my favourites is the Suntory Single Malt Whisky "Yamazaki".

Very nice, just one, without ice, enjoy it for a long time - perfect.
By the way, did you know that they make a lot of excellent whiskies in Japan?

The clan are becoming restless at the thought of non Scottish whisky but you are probably safe as the have never heard of Japan or in fact anywhere outside Glasgow.

I just told all my friends - who will surely celebrate the soccer victory of our favorite club in Glasgow this evening - not to forget to bring some bottles of our fine "VfB Champions League Trollinger Kabinett" with them, which will safely avoid getting in touch with something weird like that ole "Edradour" stuff! biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Congratulations!

Our team was technically better especially in the first half, but missed to take their winning chance out of that and after they were leading; so Glasgow won correctly in the end. But there will still be a return match in a few weeks from now.

I'll have a glass of whiskey for your team some other day as we got some very sad family news just during the match. [xx(]

Hi all,

looks like you all had a great time.

Unfortunately I had to go on a business trip to Yekaterinburg/Russia on Monday, so I could not post any links form our Regulars Table Website in Berlin after my return from Goeppingen on Sunday night.
But now I'm back and here they are:

First link (pictures from the 1000th anniverary of the city of Fürth on Saturday, 15-09-2007):
http://mist1.de/index.ph...darchiv/fuerth-15092007/

Second link (pictures of Regulars Table Meeting from Insider Club Members all over Germany on 15-09-2007 at Stuttgart):

And last but not least the third link (pictures of the Modellbahntreff from Sunday 16-09-2007):

Hope you all will enjoy the pictures on these links.

BTW "hasan" has published some pictures on our forum: http://www.3rotaie.net/forum/portale.asp click on "Album foto" and then the respective userid, we tend to use the same nick all over.

Ciao!

I'm home. Frankie beat me to the punch with the whole group. I was going to post my picture tonight

The Treff was certainly worth the trip. Oktoberfest was an experience to be remembered. Had a good time on the Bodenseee and at Salzburg too. Now back to reality.

No problem with my wife. Actually, I didn't buy that much. I bought the 2007 Museum car, the Treff car, a car commemorating the opening of the new Museum, and one other. I also bought a Marklin hat. Also, as one of the benefits of Insider membership, I got a wonderful folding ruler with a picture of trains on the side, a pin on button to wear to identify me as an insider, 2 Euros off my admission, and a glass of Sekt (Champagne to those of us off the continent) at the Insider booth. Just some of the many Smile benefits of membership. Oh, I also picked up some parts I needed at ETS.

Well prices weren't that good actually, just about the same of the on-line shop.
Even in the "Fundgrube", where there are items with broken or scratched boxes, you had to dig to find a real bargain.

That is quite true, Alessandro. I was rather disappointed in that. I had expected that there would be some good deals because of the occasion.

Guus, it was a great pleasure meeting you and your lovely wife (and all our other users.net friends) at the Treff. Too bad there couldn't have been more of us.

When I showed my 4 year old grandson my pictures from the Treff, he said he wished he had been there. Maybe for the next one when he is 6 his Mommy and Daddy will let him come with me. Smile

Next year I want to go to Intermodellbau in Dortmund 16-20 april 2008 as I haven't been there since 2004.

Maybe somebody else also ?

Hi Pål,

Sounds like a nice idea! It's only a two hours drive from my home.
Last time I was there is already 5 years ago.

Kind regards

Well prices weren't that good actually, just about the same of the on-line shop.

If you were looking at the prices in the museum shop that wouldn't be any surprise - they MUST sell their stuff for UVP! Cool

Like #37255 for just 99€ (UVP=285€) amongst more items, like such real rare ones here. biggrin

Even the MHI sold their MWB croc #37224 for 230€ (UVP=299€); in the meantime it is sold out by Märklin (despite the green traffic light). You could also get a self-assembled loco from the Ae3/6 set for 99€ or 119€ (ready).

I got my "standard" Mobatreff waggon and I found the nice city motives of Györ quite attractive, so I bought one of those waggons too.

Besides that and a number of personal talks with Märklin reps and managers, I really enjoyed seeing so many young families and kids, especially on Sunday; needless to say meeting the members of this group where I'm glad to hear that you all seemed to have returned back home safely, with hopefully lots of positive memories as well. SmileSmileSmile

Just sharing this pic with you should make clear why young people will likely never forget their early experiences with Märklin for probably the rest of their life! wink
