Lutz: I guess there were some bargains in the Fundgrube. I didn't look at everything, but the ones I looked at didn't seem that great. It was so mobbed in there, though, that it was hard to get to the shelves. Yes, it was nice seeing a lot of young folks enjoying the hobby. Wish it were so over here.

I am sorry to have missed this great event guys.
I have originally planned to visit in May, as the Modellbahntreff was originally planned for first weekend of May.
Then it was moved to September and as I was again planning to visit, elections were proclaimed and I could not leave.
But next time (in two years) I will be there (if God allows ofcourse!)
Meanwhile I am seriously thinking of visiting Intermodelbau in Dortmund next April. Is there going to be Maerklin there exhibiting?

Hi Symeon,

Yes,it's the same large layout they show at the various exhibitions. Also they have a very large stand with various activities for kids of all ages!It all looks very similar to the show at Göppingen!

Kind regards

Hi Guus,

It sounds exciting and I would like to attend. Two things I need to check first when is Orthodox Easter and second when is IFAT (International Fair for Environmental Technologies in Munich) taking place since I won't be able to leave on that dates.

You could also get a self-assembled loco from the Ae3/6 set for 99€ or 119€ (ready).

Actually this is one that I bought, we found out that one of the assistant worker at the assembly desk, was Italian and so my older son got his chance to assemble his first Marklin loco.
I am little proud that a small part of my country works there and participates to its success, also the machines used to paint the refrigerator wagons are italian-made.

Next time you're here, remind me to bring along my old Pocher wagons from Torino. I do not have many, around 20 or so, but it is worth having a look !!!!

Apart from that we should leave your statement as it is and not comment on it .... biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Yes, I think maybe Italians do it better.Smile

My daughter recently purchased a Fiat Punto - very decent little motr car, and apparently one of the tops in minimal (bad) emissions.

Now Fiat have not sold any cars in Australia for 22 years, so this was one of the first of hopefully a new era for Italian-made in Australia.[^]

I couldn't resist that one, either, Thomas. Did you not get the Treff wagon in the tin box?

Very nice items Thomas,

The Volkswagen pickup truck looks really nice.

I missed the "Erlebniswelt" freightwaggon -out of stock on Saturday afternoon.
Got the Treff waggon and the Museum waggon though.

Kind regards

Great pictures, Tony. I kept missing the ICEs when they came through. I have basically the same picture of the passing train on the Steige but from the other side of our train.
