About the 1970 version I simply don't know. Both versions are available on DVD (try www.amazon.co.uk ). For many years it was a popular TV serie on BBC, before it was filmed in 1970. In one of the early seasons a Dutch girl played the part of Roberta (Anneke Willys, 1957 cast), see was later seen in Dr. Who.

I remember the 1970 version very well, as I took my daughters (then 6, 4 and 3) to see it at the cinema in 1976. My daughters now have children of their own, so I must purchase copies, perhaps on DVD. I have not seen the 2000 version. The website presents it as a good production. regards Kimball
