I was indeed lucky, but unfortunately I sold the RET400 and 3 Swiss metal coaches from the 50:s saved at the same time (2 had opening doors, controlled by a knob on the roof) to a German guy about 10 years ago... Those are worth a lot nowadays, but not this rather common 3002... It has a few scratches on the roof, but the box is original (loco wrapped in "well-carton") an the original plastic clear tires... Like Zora's green one, it's not worth a lot but it is fun to have... |

More importanat, it is a very funny locomotive to watch driving. As I understood, mine electric motor is 20 years younger than the locomotive . I hope Hans Martin will react, and that the kamera of Vardex will be fixed. |

Usually it is running on my old layout, but presently it assigned to my new US layout, detecting contact problems on the tracks.
BTW we should think about a very distinguished E63 club. I suppose will find some members here on the forum.

OK Hans, let's start a mini gator club. Especially since I own this beauty. Defenition of a mini gator: — It comes in many colours, but most of the time it is green. — It has coupling rods. — The mini gator in non-articulated. — Of course it has a pantograph. — It has the ambition to run in Switzerland, but was stucked in Germany. — It has a long and a short nose. What a nice thread! As I see the club has already had considerable response, with interesting pics. I'll post a few pics of my E63 in the next days, too. The cardboard house is very nice. Looks like a small farm house or Ranch in the Alps, and the E 63 is hauling the milk containers ? Sorry that I reply so late, I have been on the road for the last two weeks and just returned home tonight. hans Martin

I own several card board houses, but this is not one of them. Next to card board houses, I also have stonecast houses from Hornby. This are two barns put together. I can't wait for your pictures . |

I got one of the brown/red ones in the blue artwork box before christmas last year. This little engine really runs nice. I was surprised at how smoothly the motor and drive were.

Hi friends, Here come some photos of my E63 running on my layout. This photo shows it 20 or 30 years ago: Here a newer one with a typical 1960's freight train: Freight action in the Alps, on 5 % grades (a typical gator task, isn't it? ). Eventally you may recognize the mountain range around Oberstdorf in the background. With another train: Here an interior view. The loco is from 1962 and still in completely original state (well, it has consumed lots of motor brushes, traction tyres, and ski contacts with the years). As you can see, the motor shields still had no lubrication sponge at that time, and brush holders without brass valves. Also the relay has a special feature: an additional screw to adjust the spring tension. Newer relays have a brass tongue that can be bent. Hans Martin

Thanks Hans for the excellent pictures. I see you have also the red tipper car. What would a train be without it . |

An outsider. I'm looking for the owner of that horse. He's tall, blonde, he smokes a cigar, and he's a pig!

Sorry, that one doesn't count. See the remarks on the first page. I wonder if somebody has one of the new mini gators I saw yesterday at my dealer. |

My good old mini-gator wants to join the club. Here it is: I think it's a 3001 from early seventies (but I could be wrong...) Pietro

It is not mentioned in the catalogue from 1972 from my grandfather. I'll think it is older. |

It is surely younger than yours. Look at the pantograph (for what I know, it is original): it is a 7218, while the others in these pages have a bigger one.

My locomotive is a mix of everything. It was handed over to me as scrap, and repaired with many different parts. Read also this topic . https://www.marklin-user...ault.aspx?g=posts&t=4952 |
